“Oh, hell, no,” Jeremiah said, following.“He doesn’t even have a license.”

Chapter Twenty-Two

“Mailliard is definitelyinside,” Jeremiah said.

They had gotten as close as possible in order to stake the warehouse out.The black sedan, with all the windows tinted dark, was a promising sign. The cincher, however, were the two bodyguards stationed in front of the door marked for employees.

“Can I have them?”Saxon asked.

Jeremiah looked over at him with an amused expression.“Sure.”

His face lit up with glee, he pulled out a deadly knife from somewhere, and went on the hunt. The darkness hid their approach just as one of the guards stepped to the side of the building to take a leak.Sax quietly stepped behind him, brought the blade up, and quickly slit his throat.Even before the body crumpled to the ground, twitching as his life force slowly bled out, Saxon was on the second man, carving him up like a steak.

“There are probably guards inside,” Jeremiah whispered.“I’ll focus on them, while you get your girl.Okay?”

Evren nodded and lifted his hand, counting one, two, three on his fingers and then pointed to the door for the “go” sign.In a flash, they were through it.Just as Jeremiah had predicted, there were several guards inside.Since they had the drop on them, the two men were deer caught in headlights. Before they could recover, Jeremiah moved swiftly and immediately went into fight mode.

Knowing his brother was more than capable of beating the shit out of them, Evren bypassed the three to enter the warehouse.A long corridor had several offices on the right, but as he turned the corner, it all opened up.Just like Saxon had said, the large building housed various construction equipment all on the showcase floor. He immediately spotted three other bodyguards and then heard a scream from somewhere beyond them.

Evren was pissed, and he was scared, not for himself but for Lowen. How dare Scias Mailliard touch her.Hurther.He was going to end the bastard’s miserable life and free his woman so she’d never again live in fear.

A gunshot rang out, and his heart skipped a beat in terror.Marching from the doorway, he fired his gun and nailed one guard in the back of the head.He quickly ducked behind a compactor, clocking the noises to focus on the next target.

Like a lion hunting his prey, he moved silently forward and locked onto another guard ducking behind an excavator.Silently, he proceeded, keeping a watchful eye where his blind spot would be so no one could sneak up behind him.He moved closer and took aim, firing into the man’s back and severing his spinal cord.Dead before he even dropped like a stone.

“Is that you, Evren?”Scias called out.“I have your pretty little slut.Give up now and I’ll kill you both together.Isn’t dying in the arms of your lover romantic?”

“Don’t do it, Evren!”Lowen screamed, followed by a stifled scream.

That was his undoing. He marched out and a bullet ricocheted past him, bouncing off one of the metal trucks.A flash of black came from his right and he aimed and shot, killing the man instantly. The sound of someone running came from his left, so he flattened himself against a machine, waiting. The noise came again, closer, so he ducked out and shot the man in the face.

“You’re the last man standing, Scias!”he yelled, his voice bouncing between machines. That made it hard to pinpoint his exact location as he started stalking his next mark.Noise came from the back.It certainly sounded like a knock-down fight.

“Let me go, asshole!”Lowen cried.

The sound of a punch reverberated, and Evren used that to charge forward. There they were.Lowen was dangling in his arms, unconscious. He lifted his gun and pointed it directly at Scias.
