“You think I got time for a shower?” I joked.

“James, I need you to be so fuckin’ for real, dude.”

“I’m just joking, baby. I can see your worry lines denting your forehead. I don’t want you to stress. We have our bags packed, and we’re fifteen minutes from the birthing center. All you’ve got to do is breathe. I got us.”

Brielle looked at me with a trembling bottom lip. I stood up from the bed and wrapped my arms around her. I kissed her temple, and she cried.

“She’s coming, James.”

“I know, baby. We’re going to be just fine.”

“No. I mean . . . I can feel her coming out of me right now.”

I froze. She was about to give birth in our bedroom. I thought birth was a longer process. I thought the timeframe between the water breaking and the baby coming was at least an hour or more. It felt like a blink.

“James!”

“Shit. Shit. Shit. Okay. Let me think. Shit.”

“Look at you. Mister Calm and Collected is about to shit his pants.” Brielle snickered as she held her belly.

“Man, gone on. Call your midwife. She’ll know what to do.” I gathered every clean towel in the house as Brielle called the midwife, Dominique. She told us she was on the way, but she would stay on the phone to walk us through what to do.

“James, you have the most important job, okay?” Dominique confirmed.

“Shit. Okay. Shit. What am I supposed to do?”

She explained the next few steps. Brielle leaned against the bed and got down on her knees. In this position, gravity would be her best friend in helping our baby come out. It was an unreal experience to see the head crown, to watch Brielle’s body change and stretch to bring our baby girl into the world.

Watching my baby girl enter the world made me more appreciative of Brielle. To see her strength and resilience during labor was awe inducing. I wouldn’t tell nobody but God that it unlocked a breeding kink in me. I’d already enjoyed nutting in her, but now I wanted to nut in her for the sole purpose of giving her more kids.

Luckily for her, God waited three years before he blessed us with the twins. Unlike the first pregnancy, this one was smooth. She hardly had any issues until the third trimester, when her stomach took up all the space on her body. It was quite comical, but I’d never say that out loud.

Brielle had been a full time stay at home mom since she was about seven months pregnant with Janiya. She transitionedto a different role for Jana’s Jewels. She continued to highlight hidden gems but had a few influencers on payroll to do the interviews for her. Her warehouse had grown as well.

Now, her focus was on parenting content. I wasn’t a fan of using my kids for content, so we agreed the videos wouldn’t show their faces. One thing I always vowed to do was protect my babies from predators on the internet, and limiting and censoring who sees my kids.

“Babe!” Brielle’s voice traveled through the hallway to the nursery.

I stood up and held Jeremiah close to my chest as I strolled down the hall to the bedroom. She’d sat up in bed and looked at me with sleepy eyes.

“Hey, beautiful.”

“Hey.” She smiled. She puckered her lips when I was close enough to kiss her.

“Did you and Jerry have some good quality time?” she asked as she took the sleeping baby out of my arms and put him back in the bassinet.

I nodded. “You know me and the young boys always have good vibes. He was up when I got home, so I changed his diaper and rocked him back to sleep.”

“He’s going to get upset when I wake him up in a few minutes to eat.”

“He’ll be okay. What do you want to eat for dinner?” I asked as I pulled down my pants and sat on the edge of the bed. I’d learned the hard way how Brielle felt about outside clothes in the bed.

“Can we get takeout and just cuddle tonight? I’m a little emotional today.”

I pulled her feet into my lap and massage her right foot. “What’s going on, my love?”

“Janiya read the full book of Hop on Pop. Our baby is reading, James! She’s literally about to go off to college tomorrow. What the actual fuck?” Brielle put her head in her hands and sobbed.
