For us.

I didn’t know how much I needed that to be her answer. I can’t say that Lucie feels as strongly about me as I do her, but she doesn’t need to. She feels enough for there to be an us to figure out.

I kiss her slow and deep. The manic need I’ve felt allthese weeks has shifted at the simple word—us. I don’t want to rush us.

Lucie’s body melts against mine, bringing even more passion to this kiss. Time and reality all seem to slip away in this moment here with her. All the regret I’ve held disappears because it’s brought me to her—I can see that now. I can see with Lucie’s light.

I lay her down on the bed, and kiss slowly down her jaw to her neck, down her collarbone and her chest until I’m stopped by the fabric of her dress. Lucie shivers underneath me as her hands go to the back of my head.

“Dex.” She lets out a breathy moan.

Fuck, when she says my name like that I want to speed things back up again, but we have plenty of time for that later.

Sliding off the mattress, I pull my shirt off my head, then reach for her dress, but she holds up her hand.

“Wait. I’ve been dying to see your tattoos.” Lucie gets up on her knees and meets me at the edge of the bed. Her fingers lightly trace the lines of the ink on my skin. She starts on my left bicep. Her fingers swirl around the clouds, then around the clock. She looks to me with a silent question about the meaning.

“It has Miles’s birth time on it.” I reach up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and let her continue exploring.

She continues to trace the ink through my chest. “Why the storm?”

“There was a horrible one the night Miles was born.”

Her smile grows as she finally lands on the end of the other arm that has the sun peeking out over the edge of the clouds and sunbeams shining down. “This side especially, every time you wear your Blues T-shirts, I can see the ends. And every time I’d wonder what they looked like in a situation just like this one.”

I let out an amused huff and my hands graze her thighs. “Now you know how I felt every fucking morning when I’d see you.”

“I thought it was when I wore yellow?”

“No, you wearing yellow tested my fucking resolve the most.” I grip the hem of her dress and pull it up over her head. “But every single morning—every single interaction I had with you—I thought of how badly I wanted this.”

I toss her dress on my floor, then look back at her. Seeing her in this light pink lace bra and thong nearly brings me to my knees. “Fuck, I might have a new favorite color.”

Lucie lets out this light, adorable laugh. I’ve always enjoyed hearing her laugh, but this one, this one nearly makes me come in my shorts.

I pull her face to me and bottle up that laugh with a kiss. Hearing it again will make taking it slow end very quickly.

“Dex,” Lucie moans my name again.

I trail one hand down her body to the edge of her underwear. My fingers slide lightly across the hem.

I hadn’t meant for it to come off as hesitation, but Lucie being Lucie, she breathes out. “I want this, Dex.”

“Fuck, Luce.” My hand goes down to her wet slit and I tease at her entrance. “This all for me, baby?”

Lucie’s head tilts back for a second, but then she comes back to meet my eyes with a slow nod. “I want you.”

The groan I let out is damn near animalistic as I slide one finger in her slowly then curve it in slightly to rub my finger against her wall. Only pulling back a little before doing itagain.

“Oh, God,” Lucie moans.

Repeating the motion over and over, I can feel her squeeze around my finger.

“No, Luce. You say my name when you come because I’m going to be the one worshiping you.”
