Her cheeks flush. “We can see Granddad anytime. Take me home.”

“Are you sure?”

She nods. We’re halfway across the room when a man steps in front of us. “Excuse me,” he says, holding out his hand. “Gerard Thomas from Green Bedroom recording studios. I heard talk you were here, and I’m glad I caught you.”

My dick is rock hard and all I can think about is sinking into Bea, but the whole point of coming tonight was to get Forever Summer exposure. “Elias Vasilios, nice to meet you. This is?—”

“Beatrice Kirkland,” Gerard says, smiling at her. “I went to high school with your dad. How is he? Is he here tonight? I haven’t seen him.”

“He’s good,” Bea answers politely. “He’s on his honeymoon.”

“Lucky man,” he says with a chuckle. “Tell him I said hello.”

“I will.”

“You wanted to talk?” I ask.

Gerard turns his attention back to me. “I won’t beataround the bush. Me and my partner, Patrick Walsh, have heard Forever Summer play a couple of shows, and we love your sound.”

“Thanks.”

“Do you have a manager?”

I rub the back of my neck. “Not currently, but we?—”

“It’s no matter,” he says with a wave of his hand. “We have a company we can put you in contact with. We’d really love to bring you all in for a meeting. How does Thursday work for you? 2pm?”

I stare at him. “Are you serious?”

Gerard nods. “We’ve been following you for a while now. We’re keen to sit down and see how we can benefit each other.”

I glance at Bea, and she smiles back with encouragement. “Yes, of course. We can make Thursday work. Thank you. You have no idea what this means for us.”

“We look forward to chatting with you. See you then.”

I shake his hand and wait until he’s out of hearing distance before turning to Bea and asking, “Did that seriously just happen?”

“I’d call tonight a success,” she says with a laugh.

Leaning in, I grip her waist and murmur in her ear, “Let’s go so I can get you naked and we can celebrate.”

We turn towards the exit and come face-to-face with Genevieve Cromwell. She has a wistful look on her face as she pointedly stares at where my hand is still on Bea’s waist. I drop it as if I’ve been burned.

“Mrs Cromwell, we were just?—”

“Leaving?” Hunter’s grandmother interrupts her with a kind smile.

Stunned, Bea just nods.

“Have a nice night, dear.” With a squeeze of Bea’s arm, shemoves past us towards the bar where her husband is standing with Bea’s granddad.

“What was that all about?” I ask.

“I don’t know,” Bea replies, shaking her head as she glances back at the woman. “But can we get out of here?”

I nod and place my hand on the small of her back as I lead her out of the function room.
