My stomach grumbles loudly, cementing how utterly hungry I am. A small part of me is pissed at myself for not eating, but the majority is happy I still had my lady nuts intact.
I throw myself down on the lumpy mattress and close my eyes, hoping the headache will fuck right off. And that’s when I hear the waves crashing.
If there is one thing I miss about Dana Point, other than my best friend Bianca, it’s the beach. The waves sound far away, or maybe it’s because I’m underground, but somehow they manage to sooth me. Before I know it I’m thrown down memory lane.
“Stop being a sourpuss, Kenz. It’s just a little fun,” Bianca bellows.
I roll my eyes internally, because a little fun means a whole lot of trouble with Bianca. “Fine, I need to borrow a pair of bathers then.”
She smirks and throws me one of the skimpiest bikinis known to man.
“Uh huh, no way, B! I’m a cup bigger than you and my tits will spill out of these fucking things.” I hold the bikini up in the air inspecting the neon yellow stringed top.
“It’s all I have so take it or leave it.”
“Where’s the black one piece I wore last time?”
“My mother has it.”
I quirk my eyebrow at her and scoff. “Your mother is two sizes bigger than you. There is no way her ass would fit in that.”
The sun beams in from her open balcony and makes her green eyes seem fiercer when they twinkle in the light. “You’d be surprised. Stop stalling and get dressed.”
Groaning, I shuck off my tiny jean shorts and black tank along with my underwear. Bianca catcalls and I flip her off, causing her to erupt in a fit of giggles.
After I pull on the itty-bitty bikini bottoms and top, I look at myself in her floor to ceiling mirrored closet door and catch her mischievous green eyes in the reflection. “Happy?”
She nods with enthusiasm. “Extremely.”
A small smile peeks out as I turn around to admire my body. I have to admit I do look pretty hot. I grab one of her big ass hats and we walk down to the shore.
By the time we arrive at the beach it’s close to midday and the sun is blazing down on us like a volcano ready to erupt.
We lay our massive beach towels on the sand and Bianca reaches into the cooler to grab us both a beer. We sit down, looking out into the ocean with smiles on our faces, secrets in our veins, and sex on our minds.
I live vicariously through Bianca, though. That girl relays every explicit sexual detail to me and I can feel my cheeks burning as I sip my beer, listening, and it’s not from the sun.
My best-friend is a stunner and she knows how to use her body and looks to get her way. I only wish she and her parents saw her worth like I do.
Beads of water drip down the neck of the bottle and I take another sip, welcoming the malty taste as it slides down my throat.
All of a sudden my skin prickles with awareness and I faze Bianca’s rambunctious voice out. I don’t have to look over my shoulder to see who I already know is there, but I do anyway.
I cant my neck to the side, slightly nudging my hat up to peek out from under the brim. I’m met with graphite colored eyes and a cocky smile − Justyce.
His taut stomach ripples when he laughs at something that Arrow or Acheron says, and I deviate my eyes from his form and tune back into Bianca’s story.
Reaching over, I take another beer out of the cooler, tip it back and scull some before digging it into the sand and laying back on the towel with my mind doing nosedives around Justyce.
Laughter comes in bursts behind us. With every piece of control I can muster I attempt to block it out by thinking of random things and listening to Bianca ramble. However, when she stops talking and the heat of the sun shifts from my body, I push my hat back to find Justyce and his boys standing over me.
I try not to notice how low his black shorts hang off his hips, or the fact I can see clearly up them. Dusted blonde hair disappears up his thighs and leads straight to the Holy Grail.
Justyce clears his throat, causing my attention to snap back from perving on him. I pull the hat down low on my face and the boys chuckle. So does Bianca. Bitch.
Everything is drowned out by the waves crashing, and when I can’t hear anything I assume the boys have taken off. That’s until goosebumps pebble my skin. I’m definitely not cold so it can only mean one thing. Justyce is still close by. I’m not sure why it happens, but when we are in the same vicinity I swear electricity thrums invisibly around us.
A cool hand slides up the column of my neck before a warm breath coats my skin. My body stays completely still and I wait for his voice to penetrate the air around me.
