The diner was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. I felt like I couldn’t breathe; the blood rushing in my ears was so loud.
What is he doing?!
“But then I thought, the only person that needs to know about it is you, seeing as you don’t seem to be getting the fucking message,” he said quietly, an air of fury in his voice. He drummed his fingers on the table as he watched her.
She blinked as if he had slapped her as she turned to look at me with a deadly stare.
“I’m with Annabelle, Elena. She is my girlfriend; I’m her boyfriend, we aretogether. You’re a nasty bitch, and I wish I’d never had anything to do with you. Now, fuck off back to wherever you came from and start spilling whateversecretsit is of mine you have.”
“You willbothregret this.” She hissed, whirling on her heel, heading for the door blindly. I sat utterly still, reeling from what had just happened.
Bailey Fenton is my boyfriend?
Fifteen
Together
“Why did you just say that?” I whispered in horror as Bailey looked at me, his mouth full of fries as he answered. I glared at him then and waited until he finished eating.
“Try saying that again?”
“You said, prove I can be with one girl. Prove I can go without sex and prove I won’t get bored. So, I have just done that.”
“Bailey, you’ve just told Elena I’m yourgirlfriend.” I pointed out.
“You are,” he said as his eyes met mine, making my stomach flip over.
“How can I be your girlfriend? Your friends hate me, and my best friend hates you. Your ex won’t leave you alone and is threatening me. You and I are from different worlds.” I groaned with despair.
“Do you think this way all of the time? Don’t you ever just think about what makesyouhappy?” He asked.
I opened my mouth to respond before closing it again.
“I’ve never had a boyfriend,” I admitted as he smiled broadly.
“I know. I’ve never had a girlfriend either. Should be good, right?”
He beamed at me, and I laughed in disbelief.
“Elena was your girlfriend,” I reminded him, biting into my burger as he grimaced.
“No, she wasn’t. She was relentless; there’s a big difference. I was so bored whenever I was with her.”
Jealousy curled in my stomach when I imagined them together, his hands in her hair as he kissed her deeply—
“What’s wrong? You look pissed.” Bailey interrupted my living nightmare, thankfully, and I shook my head.
“I can’t date you. This is insane.”
He moved around the booth to sit beside me, pulling me close to him.
“Do you feel happy when you’re with me?”
I blushed but nodded.
More than happy.
“Do you miss me when you aren’t near me?”
