"Hey, there, you." I heard a voice purr, and I turned to see Elena gazing at me. I'd had a weak moment last month where I'd allowed her to suck me off, a bad mistake. Now she thought we were together, as fucking if. I felt like a prize prick for even going there; she was as dull as dishwater and was vile to everyone except me.
"Alright?" I said without making eye contact. The bell rang, and she slid her arm through mine, her gaze following my eyes to Ray and Anna. Her eyes narrowed as she squeezed my arm tighter, her nails digging into my skin.
"Hankering after Moana? It won't happen; you're too young for her." She pouted at me as I pulled my arm away.
"We'll see," I muttered as I walked away from her and into class. I suddenly had an idea, and a smile spread across my cheeks.
Perfect.

"I'm not sure what you're saying."
She seemed nervous, her words spilling out of her mouth erratically as I gazed at her.
"Sure you do. I need you to convince Ray to come on a date with me. You are her best friend, after all."
She glanced around, her gray eyes captivating me as she bit her lip nervously.
"Anna?"
She jumped when I spoke, and I wondered if she was always this awkward. She made an odd sound, and I tried not to smile. She was fucking cute.
"It's Annabelle," she mumbled, "You want me to get Ray to go on a date with you?"
No. I wantyouto go on a date with me.
Instead, I lied.
"Yup. You got it."
I winked at her, and her cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red. I felt myself staring at her lips.
Just a bet, Fenton.
"Bailey, no offense, but that won't happen. She's not interested."
I couldn't give less of a fuck about Ray. Say my name again.
"Look, Anna."
Before I knew it, my hand was on her arm, electricity shooting between us as I tried to keep my cool.
What the fuck was that?
"This isn't something I've come across before. She intrigues me. Please say you'll try? For me?"
Annabelle looked at me with pity, her words shrouded in disbelief.
"You've never faced rejection?"
No.But suddenly, I was ashamed. I didn't want her to see me that way.
"Would you say no to me?" I breathed, stepping closer to her. She smelled like vanilla. Suddenly her eyes fell on someone behind me, and I felt my stomach lurch with jealousy. It was only Ray, thank fuck.
"I'll have a word," she said as she pushed past me, latching her arm with Ray’s as I watched her leave.
