I nod my head as I try to catch my breath. “Yeah. Holy fuck.”
The soft kiss he places on my lips is so different from the power he just used on my body.
He shifts to look down at where we’re joined once again. “Are you sore? How badly did it hurt?”
I tighten my legs around his waist to pull him back down to me. “Don’t ruin one of the best moments of my life, Trouble. The pain only lasted a few seconds.”
He nods as he returns my smile. “Good! That’s really good.” His eyes return to where we’re joined before a moan falls from his lips. “When can I have you again?”
My palm smacks against his chest as I playfully shove him. “Is that all you’re going to think about now?”
His smile turns into a full grin. “If by ‘it’ you mean the look on your face when you come? Then yes. Yes, it is.” He doesn’t miss the slight wince that falls from my lips as he pulls out of my body. “I knew it! You can’t hide your pain from me.”
My body feels like Jell-O as the warmth of his skin fades. His eyes never leave me as his bare feet land on the floor with a solid thunk.
“I’m fine! I swear!” His quick kiss on the forehead isn’t nearly enough to satisfy my need for cuddles after such intense orgasms. “And where do you think you’re going?”
I barely register his beaming smile over his shoulder as he walks to the connecting bathroom. I’m far too busy watching the dimple in his right butt cheek wink in and out of existence with every step he takes.
His laughter brings my attention back to his face. “Did you even hear a word I just said?”
With a sheepish smile, I shake my head. “Nope. Not a word.”
The smile never leaves his face as he rolls his eyes. “I said I’m going to take care of the condom and get a warm, wet cloth for me to take care of my girl.” His raised brow only accentuates his smirk. “That alright with you?”
I nod and smile at his retreating form as I settle farther into the comforter.
I don’t take Kam’s gentle touches for granted as he cleans me.
I don’t take his loving kisses for granted as he tucks me under his arm and pulls me close under the warm blankets.
And I don’t take his words for granted as he whispers, “I love you, Sunshine.”
Because at the end of an exhausting day filled with uncertainties, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.
So, with tired bodies and full hearts, we fall asleep with not even the sheets between us. “I love you, too, Trouble.”

ICE QUEEN
KAM
I wake from a dream only to discover that the dream is my new reality. That Lila’s warmth really is radiating into me from her spot on my chest. That she gave herself to me last night with no reservations or hesitations. Her blonde curls standout against my dark sheets as her chest rises with every gentle breath.
Dim light cascades through the window over our untouched pile of clothes at the foot of the bed. The tidy sheets and dreamless night allude to the best night's sleep I think I’ve ever had.
Lila shifts in my arms and her mango scent washes over me like a tidal wave. Her soft exhale against my chest sends chills racing down my spine as memories of her making a very similar sound last night float to the surface of my mind.
A quick glance at the clock shows it's just after eight in the morning. I hesitantly run my fingers through the soft tendrils of her hair draped over my arm. “It’s time to wake up, Sunshine.”
Her soft groan brings a smile to my face. “What time is it?”
“It’s just after eight. The twins will get up soon, if they aren’t already.”
Her nose is cold against my heated skin as she burrows farther into my chest. “Just five more minutes.”
My gentle laugh vibrates against her smooth skin. “Is this why you were always late for our morning class? And here I pegged you as a morning person.”
