I raise an eyebrow. “Are you telling me that the forest wants me to get laid?”

Because that’s what this is, isn’t it? This sudden fever?

It’s need, all right. Like Ineedto fuck.

And I want Colt. Hell. I wantallof them. Is that greedy? Probably. I’m not even sure how that would work. These guys are, from what I understand, blood brothers. Living together, waiting for their mate… unless they can look past being blood, they’ve been celibate for a while. If I fuck one of them, will that piss off the other two? Rowan could probably give a shit, but Finn? If I bang his brother, I think I’ll break the big teddy bear’s heart. He already seems stuck on me. Rejecting his obvious affection for his brother seems so callous after how sweet he’s been to me.

But Colt… it’s taking everything I have not to grab him by his flannel, yanking him down, and kissing that slight smirk off of his face.

And then it widens. A gentle finger glides along the edge of my jaw, more gentle than I thought the middle brother could be, before he’s tipping my chin back, forcing me to see the lust and the heat and theneedin his honey-colored eyes.

“I’m telling you that, from the moment you curled up in my bed, I had no intention of ever letting you leave it.”

The dark promise in his suddenly rough voice causes my fever to spike.

Danger, Goldie. You’re in danger…

“I didn’t curl up in your bed,” I tell him, searching for something, anything to break his spell on me. “I sank into it, and then I crawled out because I thought I’d get suffocated.”

“Doesn’t matter, little thief. Your scent is on my blankets. My pillows. My sheets. I’ve spent every night since breathing you in, rubbing my cock to your deliciousness. And now you’re here, and the wind carries your musk straight to me.” His eyes flash. “To my bear. You smell like honey, Aurelia. You smell likemine.”

He stalks toward me. I don’t know how I get turned around but, suddenly, he’s there and my back is against another tree.

“Colt,” I say breathlessly.

“You want me,” he says, his tone both commanding and hypnotic. “Say it.”

Holy shit. I thought Rowan was the commanding brother, but having Colt right there, face inches from mine, the demand echoing in my ears…

Say it.

CHAPTER 5

TEMPTATION

Iwant to tell him ‘no’ just to wipe that smirk off of his face. Too bad that my mouth doesn’t work how it should. Instead of snapping at him to back off, it just wants to fall open so that he can kiss me instead…

I whimper. That’s all I can do. I whimper, and Colt moves into me. Next thing I know, I’m completely backed up against the tree. Moving quicker than I expected, he lashes his hand around my wrist, taking my hand with his as he braces it above my head. His other hand goes straight to my hip.

Colt pushes his obvious erection against me as he cages me in. Dropping his nose to my shoulder, he breathes me in, shuddering at being this close to me.

“Fucking delicious,” he rumbles a second before he uses the flat of his tongue to swipe up the side of my throat.

I arch my back as best as I can, giving me full access to me. I mean, hell. I’m soaked and I’m needy and I’m fuckingshakingas Colt presses an open-mouthed kiss to my neck. As he distracts me with that, he releases my hip, grabbing my leg, hooking it around his waist.

He’s spread me wide open, and if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s full dressed, I might’ve just stood there and begged himto fuck me. The words are halfway to my lips, my dazed mind willing to do anything for some further relief, when the haze is broken up by three quiet words spoken by a man—a bear—who neither of us could ignore.

It’s Rowan, and all he says is, “Let. Her. Go,” before Colt is drawing away from me, and I’m patting my skirt down anxiously, half pissed that Rowan interrupted us when we were just getting good—and half annoyed that I don’t have the nerve to invite him to take his brother’s place.

Colt adjusts the bulge in his jeans while lowering his gaze so that he can avoid the fire blazing in Rowan’s molten gold-colored eyes.

“It’s the fever,” the younger brother begins. “It was worse than we heard.”

“There are other ways to cool the fever, Colton. Without pushing her?—”

“I know. Damn it, Row, I know. And… fuck. I lost control. That’s not fair to Finn.”

Finn.
