My head swirled with thoughts on the drive back to the cabins, not that the drive was very long to begin with. Me? In love? Or at least, in the process of falling?

Once upon a time, I would’ve laughed—and then slammed the panic button and gone and immediately fucked someone else, just to prove I wasn’t developing feelings for the guy.

But with Arias? He made me feel different than anyone I’d ever been with. Even before, when I couldn’t scent him, I knew he was special. Maybe deep down, I’d known from the beginning that he was my mate. Or at least, my wolf had. He was a little smarter and wiser than me, if we were being honest.

I pulled into the short drive and honked. A moment later, Arias came strutting out of the house looking good enough to eat. He slid into the passenger seat and immediately, his scent bombarded me, followed by the familiar waft of his cologne. My mouth began to water. Mmm.

“Ready?” I teased, tapping my fingers over the steering wheel.

He offered a sheepish smile. “I hope you know what you’re doing.”

“I promise, you won’t regret this.” With that, we shot off into the night.

The only nightclub in Northpoint was this place called Indigo. It wasn’t my favorite club, but I didn’t really feel like driving the forty-five minutes out of town just to do a little dancing. Not when I was itching to get Arias’s hands all over me. Like, now. The sooner the better.

The moment we stepped out of the car, I could feel the music deep in my bones. The techno beat thumped away. I caught Arias’s eye and bit my lip. He looked a little unsteady. Maybe he reallydidhave two left feet.

“Trust me,” I murmured, grazing my shoulder against his. I took his hand and, with a little butt wiggle, pulled him along after me. We went inside and paid the cover charge, and it felt a little like coming home. I hadn’t been here in months, not since the last time Colby and I fooled around.

The place was packed. Typical Friday night. With the lights dimmed low, we were welcomed in by the colorful swirl of lights on the floor, and the beacon of hope that was the open bar. There was a stage to the left, but there was no one playing tonight.

The music was so loud, the beat pounded between my ears. A shiver of excitement spread through me. I leaned in close to Arias and shout-spoke, “Wanna get a drink?”

When he shook his head, I took that as my cue to get him out of his mind for a little bit. Was it the crowd that made him so uncertain? The noise? The feeling of being packed into a box surrounded by so many sexed-up people? I sniffed. Most of them were human, but there was the occasional shifter. Tonight, I smelled feline and…was that avian?

Without a word, I led him through the throng of sweaty dancers, their arms thrown over their heads and laughter written on their faces in the blue-violet glow of the floor lights. I found a spot off to the side, shrouded in shadow, where the music wasn’t quite so distracting.

“Okay?” I asked, and when his brows pinched together, I leaned up and kissed him. He’d coin in once I had his attention. I took his hands and planted them on my hips, then wound my arms around his neck. “Relax, baby.”

As we began to sway to a beat all our own, I rewarded him with kisses. Each one was a little longer, a little deeper than the last, until we were tangled up together on the dance floor. I spun around and pressed my ass to his groin.

This time, he reacted. His hands clamped down over my hips, his fingers digging into my skin. I rocked back against him, my back flush to his chest. I dropped my head back on his shoulder and he nipped at my throat, making me whine. With my hands tangled in his hair, we danced together until we were sweaty and my dick was protesting its lack of space.

Arias rubbed himself against me. I could feel the bulge in his dark Levi’s pressing deliciously against my ass. I groaned and kissed him, sweeping my tongue inside. He growled into my mouth, then sucked on my lip until it felt bruised. My hands fell to his hips, and somehow, we found ourselves up against a wall.

He groped over me, his big paws making my skin hum. He bit my neck and sucked dark hickies into my skin. My toes curled in my boots as I whimpered his name, our grunts stolen away by the music.

Unable to take it any longer, I twisted back around to face him, my fingers dipping beneath the waistband of his pants. He froze, panting. His eyes were glossy in the darkness. We stood there for what seemed like an eternity, our gazes locked but our need for one another apparent.

I kissed him hard, backing him towards the stairwell. I needed him. My ass clenched in anticipation. I unbuckled his pants, then shoved my own leggings down my hips. His hands found my ass, spreading me apart, and his breath hitched. When his fingertip teased my entrance, I pressed back against him with another soft moan.

“Dallon.” He uttered my name with such reverence.

“Fuck me.”

“We don’t have any—”

“Do it,” I growled back. I reached around and squeezed his dick, effectively shutting him up. I bit my tongue as his blunt cockhead pressed against my puckered hole, but fuck it. I’d take him dry. Not like I hadn’t done it before, and besides, the pain was so good.

He sank slowly inside of me and we moaned in unison. He grasped my hips and pulled out, then thrust back in. I planted my hands against the wall beneath the staircase and rocked against him, until all I could feel was the glide and drag of his glorious dick. It drove me absolutely wild, knowing he was claiming me right here, surrounded by these people.

Chasing my release, I jerked myself off roughly as Arias pounded into me from behind, and I could tell he was close by the way his movements became staggered.

His cock thickened as he came, melting my insides with his heat. I reached back and grabbed his swelling knot before it could slip inside and tie us together in what would definitely be a compromising situation. I massaged it with my hand, prolonging his orgasm.

We broke apart. He pulled out and tucked himself away, and I quickly pulled up my pants. Both of us breathing hard, we glanced around. No one had seemed to notice, or if they noticed, they didn’t care. I grabbed him by the neck with both hands and kissed him.

“I think I’m done dancing,” I whispered against his lips.
