Ipaced outside the door to the bar. How could I go in? Did I make a fool of myself in front of Jim? I mean… I couldn’t help but look at him.
Jesus!
All of them. They were fucking gorgeous. Who knew that the guys in Foggy Basin would be International Male models? Ben was incredibly handsome, and so was Tim… But Jim was a fucking fantasy come to life. The dark hair that peppered his chest and that treasure trail that disappeared down into his shorts. I had to think about dead people to stop myself from getting a hard-on. I tried to focus on lifting and nothing else, but my eyes drifted to him.
His sweaty chest and those fucking shoulders and arms were a thing of beauty that left me feeling hornier than I had felt in a very long time. If I met him at a bar in New York, I knew what I would be doing tonight – Jim.
Do I go inside, or should I text him and say that something came up? I mean, I could think about him and try to get him out of my head. I laughed loudly and then looked around to see if anyone was looking at the crazy person pacing in front of the bar.No, that would make things worse. I’d just fantasize about him while I… Yeah… This was not good, was it?
I should just go inside and deal with it. I really could use a drink, and I should talk to Ben about the resort and the playhouse doing their shows over there.
Fuck it.
I opened the door and headed inside. I saw them all standing around one of the pool tables. Jim noticed me and waved. He smirked as I walked over. He knew. Fuck…
I felt like I was in high school again and just got caught staring at the quarterback. It had happened. It had been horrible, and I had spent weeks crying in my room because of all the teasing and names I had been called.
I stiffened as I walked over – a steel rod up my spine.
“Hey, Finn!” Ben yelled happily. “You need to catch up, dude. You play pool?”
“I mean… sure.”
“Let’s do a shot.” Ben walked over to the bar and waved me over. “What do you want?”
“Uh… I’ll have a bourbon and Coke.”
Ben ordered a round of shots and my drink, and then turned to me. “How are you finding the Basin?”
“It’s a lot different from what I expected.”
“How so?”
“Well, I’m not used to a small town being so gay friendly for one. But it’s also really cute and everyone has been nice.”
“I love it here. It’s weird to think that all I wanted was to get out of here when I was a kid. But as soon as I came back, I realized that I couldn't leave. My husband owns the bakery in town.”
“I love that place. I met a redheaded girl there who was super sweet.”
“Tammy Sue. She’s really something, man. She and Percy, my husband, have been best friends for a long time. So you’re single?”
“Yep.” I shrugged. “There are some great guys in town. But only one who is amazing, gay, and single.”
“Are you trying to play matchmaker?”
“When it’s easy, it’s easy, you know? Jim’s a great guy.”
“Yeah, he seems to be.”
“Alright,” Ben laughed. “I’ll stop. It’s really none of my business, but… I noticed how the two of you look at each other.”
“You did?”
“I did.”
“Ben, here are the drinks. You want this on the tab?”
“Please. Thanks, man. Can you help me carry these over?” He grabbed three of the shots, and I picked up the other with my drink.
