“Tonight?” I knew waiting was something Iwas going to have to practice when Dare shook his head.

“No, I think I’m going to give him time toget used to the idea, and we’ll use them when he needs to be taken out of hishead a bit.”

My pout had him chuckling. “Ice cream, remember? Or do you want me to tell Scott that you’re still being naughty sohe’ll eat yours too?”

Sighing, I promised to be good as weapproached the register. I might have to wait a bit to see him come ungluedfrom the clamps, but we’d still had fun.

Ice cream and sex toys…definitely a goodway to spend an afternoon.

Chapter 15

Dare

“No.” I shook my head. “What did I say?”

I’d have leaned over and kissed myworrywart if we hadn’t been in the middle of a nice steakhouse. When Ryanshrugged, looking sheepish, I waved my fork at him. “Nope, try again.”

He finally chuckled. “Fine. I’moverthinking this.”

Scott tried to come across as supportive, but he really didn’t look much more confident than Ryan. “Besides, he has workanyway.”

And it was something I couldn’t get out of,so there weren’t any other options.

“I really think that they’re trying to makesure you both know they support you.” Leaning back, I poked at my cheesecakebefore licking my fork, grinning as they watched my mouth like they wereimagining they were the utensil.

“If they were trying to make it awkward orif they were going to be dicks about it, they wouldn’t have tried so hard.”Parents who were going to war came out swinging, not promising pot roast andcake…and since his mother had been calling for the past week and a halfnonstop, I was fairly certain she didn’t want to argue.

“And I expect a piece of that cake.” Iwaved my fork again as they laughed. “Don’t be stingy with carrot cake.”

That seemed to finally take the edge off ofScott and his smile widened. “I don’t know. Susan is going to think that you’reavoiding her. I’m not sure that’ll earn you leftovers.”

Groaning, I played along, trying to lookfierce. “I get leftovers or you don’t get orgasms.”

They both blushed, squirming and lookingaround shyly. They were so cute, but at least they were now worrying about anaudience instead of Ryan’s parents.

Leaning forward, I rested my elbows on thetable and made a show of dragging my index finger over the top of my dessertbefore bringing it up to my lips and sucking on the tip.

That had my beautiful boys squirming, andthe way their hands were shifting on the table said they were both thinkingabout adjusting what had to be wonderfully sexy erections. “Don’t you want tofeed me cake?”

Heads bobbing in unison, they leaned closerlike they were imagining doing dirty things to me.

I made another show of tasting my dessertfrom one finger. “Cream cheese frosting is even better than cheesecake.”

Smacking my lips just a bit, I smiled. “Ican’t wait to taste it, so why don’t I meet you boys at your apartment when youget back? That way we won’t have to wait.”

And hopefully that would help distract themfrom any stress as they had lunch with Ryan’s parents. I wanted to be the oneto ease them through it, but honestly, I thought his parents needed a moment toshow Scott that nothing had changed…and they needed time to get used to seeingthem as a couple.

If I thought it would go badly, I’d havetaken a different strategy, but I’d heard his mother as she’d finally talkedRyan into both of them coming over for dinner. She’d been a mother on amission, not a bitch waiting to prey on their weakness.

And while my own mother was insane butwonderful, I’d known more than a few friends whose parents leaned toward thebad end of crazy. I’d learned to spot the parents who were getting ready to dosomething stupid fairly early.

One bad date in high school had really beenall it’d taken.

Ryan’s brain was finally kicking back intogear, and he blinked a few times like the cells were starting to fire. It wascute. “So we’ll call you when we start heading back and meet you at theapartment?”

“That’s perfect.” Since they both seemedmore relaxed, I pulled back on the teasing. “Then we’ll figure out somethingfun to do on Sunday. Sound like a plan?”

As much as I wanted to make sure we all gottime for smaller dates between each couple, sometimes it just wasn’tpractical…and there were simply times we needed to be together.
