It would if I pull a Gram-Gram and set your pants on fire, Putnam.
I don't though.
Score one for taking the higher road for me.
"Anything to say to that, Crystal Moon?" Carter directs his question to me, having picked up on Bellamy’s look.
"Let the best witch win," I smart off with a grin, my gaze narrowing on Bellamy.
Two can play this game and there’s no way I’m going to back down on national tv.
"Well then, why don't we find out what method you'll be using, Crystal Moon."
Crystal ball, crystal ball—come on and give me the balls.
"Nephomancy for our sweet witch, meaning the crystal ball is Loïc’s divination method!"
Clouds?
I get fluffy cloud interpretation?
Ideservethe balls—both Preston’s and Kai's, as well as the crystal one.
I hear Bellamy snicker, but I don't let it rattle me.
"Don't worry, Bellamy. My puffy clouds are going to smoke your fire reading," I spout confidently, flipping some purple-colored strands out of my eyes.
"We'll see about that, Princess," he sneers.
"Ooo, it looks like the competition is heating up here on Modern Day Witch Hunt. Stay tuned to see the four of these witches in action right after these commercials."
"Cut!" the director calls. "Perfect. Contestants, get situated at your designated altars and we'll start filming the trial."
Stepping away from my designated slot, I follow the others to where the backdrop curtain has opened up, revealing the four types of divination methods set-up.
When I see the video screen of a blue sky full of clouds waiting for me, I feel my heart rate jackhammer. If there’s a time that magic would be useful—now would be it.
Guess there’s a positive to bonding to Kai. . .
Other than his cock, I mean.
As soon as we’re all situated, Carter shifts from where he’s standing so the camera can get all of us in frame before the challenge.
"And five, four, three," the set employee announces, motioning the final two numbers of the countdown to signal the start of filming.
"Welcome back to Modern Day Witch Hunt, if you're just tuning in. We're about to start our second trial where our contestants will need to divine the correct answer to their individual question using the method chosen by you, our loyal viewer. There is no time limit on this challenge, but the expediency used to divine the answer as well the accuracy will be used to determine if they move to the final trial. When I announce the start of the trial, each contestant will flip over their card that has their never before seen question on it. They will then use their divination method to prophesy the answer, which they’ll write onto a card and submit into this box here. The question and answer will be read aloud once all four cards are submitted. Winners will be selected by whose answer is correct and who finishes first—but there is a second twist!Yes, that's right, two twists for trial two! Our viewers will be able to vote one of the contestants to stay even if they are incorrect or last to submit an answer."
Yup, definitely rigged.
At least that means I'll be staying—hopefully.
Let's just hope that I can come up with some kind of answer via daydreaming about clouds.
"Ready, witches?"
After we all give our affirmative, Carter claps and shouts, "Let the trial begin!"
We all move at once, flipping over our cards and reading the question.
