"Well, if you had to go through what I did you'd be horny and irritable too."

"I don't have to go through that because Evanora actually likes me," Kai counters Bellamy's snark.

"Enough, you two! We can argue about dicks later."

Though I'd love to think about their dicks right now.

"Goddess damn it. I'm going to paint that ass red when I finally get you over my knee, Princess,"Bellamy whispers in my head, his voice pained, and when I look over at him he’s sporting an expression promising everything he said.

"Okay,” I redirect, focusing on the task at hand. “Here's what happened."

It takes a good ten minutes to explain what happened in the room during filming, followed by another ten going over the conversation I had with Mindy. By the time I finish, everyone looks ready to punch something.

"So, what's the plan now?" Kai questions, rubbing his smooth jaw in contemplation. "Figure out where the book of prophecies is, get it first, then go destroy the grimoire?"

"It's the only way to ensure no one will use it for evil."

"That was so cliche," Bellamy mutters. I roll my eyes, trying to stay on topic.

The clock is ticking, after all.

"Guess we need to divine where the book is now that we're not under time constraints and being forced to sit together on a table."

"You three do that, I'll see if I can do any research for it," Preston offers, giving me a kiss on the cheek and opening my laptop on the table.

Instead of being complicated and difficult like I expected—not that it’s hard to do, seeing as how everything up until this point has been a pain—a dark cave opening appears in my mind as soon as I’m settled onto the floor to meditate.

...A cave?

Mother Shipton hid her old and extremely valuable prophecies book in a cave?

Are you kidding me?

"Can you stop thinking so loud?" Bellamy finally exclaims out, his eyes popping open as he talks.

"Excuse me for trying to figure out an answer," I argue, before turning to Preston who’s seated at the small table and scrolling a browser full of search results. "Is there a cave on there somewhere?"

"Let me check."

A few clicks of keys later, I’m staring at the entrance to the same cave I saw in my mind.

"That's it. Where is it?"

"England," Kai tells me with a frown. "I'm pretty sure there's no possible way we'll be able to get that tonight unless one of us is capable of teleportation or time travel. So let's focus on getting the grimoire and then when all of that is done, we go get the prophecies."

"Yeah, I agree. The issue now is, I didn't see the grimoire during filming. It was a fake one."

"It's at the studio," Kai reassures me with certainty. "I could feel it while I was waiting in the dressing room. I almost went and poked around but figured it would be better to not do that."

"Do you know where in the building it was?"

"To the right of your dressing room, it wasn't overtly close because the sensation was faint but it's in that building somewhere."

I sit there in thought and that's when it hits me. A smile curls my lip and a buzz of excitement starts to build.

"Why do I feel like I'm not about to like whatever you're thinking?"

Kai hops up from the ground as he teases me. Coming over to help me off the floor where I’m seated, his hands are warm and calloused when I take them. His gaze is speculating as he looks down at me because I still haven’t explained. The mischievous smile I wore spreads across my cheeks, his brow raising in response.
