“W-w-what?!” I splutter.
Behind me, Gram-Gram cackles.
“I can’t wait to attend this four-way glitterfest! Porter, good luck explaining this to your family,” she taunts.
But Bellamy just shrugs.
“I feel worse for Preston,” he counters, but my human mate laughs.
“Nah, it’s poor Nora we should be pitying.” Preston announces.
“Why?” I snap.
“Because you’re going to have to meet all of our families and explain yourself to them!”
I blanch.
“You’re my favorite mate,” I whisper to Kai because I won’t have to meet anyone from his side.
He beams, clearly the cat who got the cream, and bows charmingly at the waist.
“I live to serve,” he all but purrs at me.
Bellamy smirks and elbows Preston.
“Sounds like someone ispussy-whipped,” he puns, making everyone in the room laugh.
This magical marriage might just work after all.
“What should we do with all the bodies?” I wonder.
It's convenientnowthat they're all unresponsive, but I imagine that they'll soon all be waking up.
“Nothing that ol’ Gram-Gram can't take care of,” my great-grandma announces, walking over to where Mother Shipton’s grimoire is still on the floor behind Mindy's desk.
She opens it up and, just like inHocus-Pocus,the book flairs to life. I watch her excitedly flip through the pages, but after a few seconds she starts to grumble.
“What's wrong, Gram?” I ask.
“These pages are blank,” she states.
“Blank? Why? That doesn't make any sense. A Porter or Putnam should be able to open the book and see all the spells within our grimoire.”
I walk over, unsure of what's happening. I take the book from Gram, opening and closing it. Sure enough, nothing shows up on the pages.
“Why the hell did it light up then?” I snap in frustration.
“Here, let me try,” Bellamy says
He takes the book and repeats the same steps. He opens it and closes it, but the pages are just as blank for him as they were for my gram and me.
“Maybe you two should try opening the grimoire together,” Preston suggests.
“That's not a half-bad idea,” Gram comments. “You know, for being human, you aren't all that bad. You're also a hot piece of ass.”
“Gram!” I shout, but Jake and Chance just laugh in agreement with her.
Goddess, I'm surrounded by a bunch of hornballs.
