Forever Rebels

Kelsey’s hand flexed in Gypsy’s as the small jet landed, and the pilot’s voice came over the speakers a moment later announcing their arrival in Fort Wayne. Bear turned around from where he sat in front of them and grinned over his shoulder. “Home again, home again.”

Mason and the rest of his men had made the same trip yesterday, after everything wassorted with the Malcontents. Gypsy shook his head when he realized he’d already separated them in his mind. Mason’s men, and where Gypsy stood now, headed for another place in his life. Tugboat and Maggie remained behind in San Diego, but they’d made the journey several times over the past year, and were set-up with an apartment in both towns.Nothing for them to tidy up behind them here. Gypsyshook his head, shocked at how things had worked out.

The plane bumped as it rolled to a stop and Kelsey turned from the window to look at Gypsy. “What’s next?”

He studied her, his gaze tracking across her face, seeing only a soft affection.Amazing, he thought. To look at her now, you’d never know even a few weeks ago she’d been a ball of nerves. With his admission of his feelings towards her,it was as if the weight of a thousand worlds had fallen from her shoulders. She stayed close to him, touching him frequently, fingers wrapping around his arm, handtuckedinto the bend of his elbow, or just her side pressing up against him. It wasn’t in a way that said she was nervous or afraid. No, this was more about her staking her claim on him.She loves me.

“We head home first.” Kelsey nodded, fingers of her other hand working at the belt fastened across her lap. He looked at her profile, the wrinkles of her tiny frown making him smile. “You can call the girls over if you want.” That got her attention and she glanced at him, nose crinkled in confusion. “You know. Ruby, Willa, and the girls. If you want.”

“Would they want to come see me?” Her question was sincere and made Bear laugh, which had her looking at him.

“Eddie’s already bugging me about making time to see you before you head back west, Kels. I’d say they’ll be upset if you didn’t extend the invitation.”Bearstood and stretched. “Gypsy, we’ll see you at the clubhouse later, right?”

He shrugged. “Not looking forwards to it, but it’s gotta be done.”

Subdued, Bear stared at him and shook his head. “You sure aboutthis, brother?”

“You remember when you patched into the RWMC?” Bear nodded. “Remember how it felt like coming home at last?” Bear nodded again. “That’s me with Blue Line. He and I go back so far, it’s like he’s always been in my back pocket. I love the Rebels, never let it be said I don’t, but I’ve never felt like I did with the Malcontents. It’s not just Blue Line, but Tugboat, and everyone.”

“Always have a seat at the table in my home, brother. Always.” Bear reached out and Gypsy stood, meeting him in a hard grip, pulling the big man close tobumpshoulders.

“Means a lot, Bear. More than you know.” Pushing back, he sucked in a breath.Bearbroke the fixed gaze, shook his head and moved towards the front of the plane where the door had opened. “Ready, Kels?” Gypsy turned and was surprisedto see her still seated, hands twisting in her lap nervously. “Darlin’, what’s wrong?”

“You’re leaving your mates.” She gave a sharp shake of her head, hair flying around her face, strands stuck in the gloss on her lips. “Leaving your family to go to California. How can you be sure it’s right? Right for you?”

“You left your country and came here with me.” He knelt in front of her, palms on herknees. “Left your friends. Trusted me and your gut that this was what you needed. How could you be sure it was right?”

Rolling her eyes, she sighed. “That’s just a fair sight different.”

“Not really. It’s not, Kelsey. You made a decision based on what you knew and felt in the moment, trusting in the connection you’d built with me.” He squeezed her knees, thumbs brushing the inside of her thighs.“Yeah? That’s right?”

“Right. But this is your life. Mine wasn’t…I didn’t have what you do.”

“You had friends.” He watched her face, seeing a flurry of emotions crossing in an instant.

Kelsey lifted her chin, swallowing hard. “I left Nary and the Hawks, that’s true. But I got youinthe exchange.”

“From my view, I think you got the raw end of the deal, darlin’.” Gypsy grinned as she rolledher eyes and tossed her hair. He smoothed his palms up her thighs to grip her hips, giving a yank to draw her to the edge of the seat as he pressed forwards, arching into her heat. “But I’m glad you chose me.” He thrust again and watched her eyes darken, growing hooded with the newly found desire she reveled in. “Very glad.”

“I’d do it again, you know.” Her declaration was loud and firm, morenearly a shout than anything else. She placed her handsonhis, fingers threading through to hold tight. “Pick you. There’s nothing else I want in the whole world. If what I got out of everything that happened is you, then…” She swallowed again, lips quivering. “I’d pick you.”

Gypsy moved forwards, wrapped her in his arms, and carefully cradled her to his chest. “You’re the most precious thingI’ve ever had in my hands, Kelsey. I’m going to make sure you never, ever regret that decision. For the rest of your life, I’ll do everything I can to make it worth your while.” He rested his forehead against hers, staring into those gorgeous blue eyes that always seemed to look deep into his soul. “I love you.” A discrete cough behind him made Gypsy grin. “Time to go. You ready?” Kelsey hummedand he stood, pulling her up with him to exit the plane.

“Gypsy, how will we get to your apartment?” They walked through the open door and into the terminal, then past the security guard seated near the open suitcase of cookies that was the trademark of the Fort Wayne airport.

“I know people,” he teased, and pulled her close. Because they’d ridden the bike to the West Coast, there hadn’t beenroom to carry much in the way of clothing or personal items. Gypsy bypassed the luggage area, stepping outside. He paused under the awning and scanned the vehicles at the curb before directing her towards a van idling nearby. “There he is.” Gypsy opened the side door and laughed, because chaos spilled out through the opening.

Slate leaned from his seat behind the wheel, trying to use a wipe toclean a protesting little girl’s face. “Hey, brother,” he said. Distracted by his task, Slate didn’t look up. “Front seat and way backareopen. Sorry to split you two lovebirds up, but Ruby’s not feeling well. She’s home sleeping.” He dipped his chin, looking at Gypsy over the top of his sunglasses. “I think she’s knocked up again. But what do I know?” Slate gestured towards the four childrenfilling the van, pointing his thumb over his shoulder. “I only made a couple of ‘em so far.” He grinned, his tone turning sarcastic. “Sure, Ruby, I’m the idiot in this scenario.”

“Kelsey, this is our ride.” Gypsy tried to usher her to the front seat, but she laughed up at him, hair in a dark halo around her face and it struck him again. She loves me. Eyes shining in amusement she shook her headand slapped his bicep as she stepped towards the door. “You sure?”

“Yes, I’m sure. It’s only children.” Rolling her eyes, she bent over to climb into the back of the van and he was treated to a view of her ass, rounded and begging to be bitten. She was wiggling past the child in the back row of seats when he reached up and ran his palm up the back of her thigh, wedging his thumb in her crotchas he swept his fingers across the curve of her ass. “Gypsy,” she complained and jumped, head whirling around so she could pin him with a glare. “Children.”

“Oh, man,” Slate groaned from the front seat. “That’s a tone I get a lot too, man. ‘Don’t touch me there in front of the babies, Slate.’ If it’s starting now and these ain’t even your kids, imagine how it’ll be once she pushes one of yoursout.”

Gypsy and Kelsey both froze at his words, gazes locked. Staring at her so intently, he noted the moment her expression changed, softening, becoming wistful. “You want that?” Tucking her bottom lip between her teeth, she shrugged and seated herself, head down to avoid him as she buckled. “We’ll talk later, you and me.” Still not looking at him, she shrugged again, and Gypsy reachedpastthe child, ignoring how Allen immediately poked at him with some sticky toy, and gripped her chin, bringing her face up so she had to look at him. “We’ll talk later, darlin’.”
