“What’s wrong?”he asks with a concerned tone as he lifts my chin.
“Ah, just cramps,” I lie.
“I’m sorry,” he frowns.“Anything I can do?”
“No.Just one of those things,” I smile.“You coming to dinner tonight?”
“I sure am,” he says.
“You coming tonight?”Cam asks Tris.
“I mean, I already have once today.I could go for another,” she says, and I laugh heartily.
“What?”Cam asks.Tris and I laugh more at their innocence.Tris has been hitting on Cameron for years, and he is so fucking oblivious.I keep telling her she needs to be straight up and just tell him she likes him, but I think she’s just as nervous.
“Oh, Cam,” I say, giggling.I am surprised to see Remy smirking, so I narrow my eyes at him.“What are you smiling at?”
“You, silly girl. Are you two being dirty?”
“I didn’t say anything.I’m innocent,” I say, making Tris snort.“Cam is just oblivious.”
“To what?”Cam asks, confused.
“Yes, she will be at dinner tonight, Cameron,” I laugh.“So, this meeting?”
“Uhm.Right,” Cam says, refocusing.
IpullintoMomand Dad’s driveway and park beside Remy.Tris parks beside me, and we go inside.“Hey, Momma,” I say as I kiss her cheek.
“Hey, baby girl,” she says as she sets the wooden spoon down and hugs me.“You feeling better?”
“Mmm.I’m okay,” I say.
“You’re a terrible liar,” she says softly. As someone walks into the kitchen.
“Hey,” Dad says happily.
“Hey, Daddy!”I say as I turn and hug him.
“How are you?”
“I’m okay,” I say.
“Remy is looking for you, by the way,” Mom says as she hugs Tris.
“Staying out of trouble, Tris?”Dad asks as he hugs her next.
“Ha.No,” she laughs.
“She was flirting with Cam again today, and it went right over his head,” I laugh.
“That boy,” Mom laughs.
“It would be easier to just tell him,” I tell Tris.
“This is fun though,” she laughs.
“Until he figures it out and fucks you up for teasing him for so long,” I laugh.
