It was true. She wasn’t going out of her way tonotsee him.The bridal party made plans to be by the pool.It wasn’t her fault Beau hadn’t moseyed on by.If anything, hewas evadingher.
“Maybe you should’ve given the condoms to him,” Joyce suggested.
Tina smirked.“Nah.Marissa can save the day when they see each other again.”
“If!”Marissa interjected.
There were no guarantees in life. She wasn’t about to get her hopes up that Beau would even want to get it on with her again. She was content with their dalliance being a memory. Why were her friends pushing this so hard?
Rolling her eyes, Tina crossed her leg.“Fine.If.”She flicked her hand in Marissa’s direction.“Ifyou see him again, you are now prepared for things to progress.”
Joyce popped the box into Marissa’s bag.“If,” she repeated.
Carolyn lifted her glass.“If!”she announced.
Tina and Joyce walked over and clinked their drinks with hers.“If,” they said in unison.
The three of them turned to stare at Marissa.
Joyce lifted her brows expectantly.
Sighing, Marissa took her glass and tapped it against her friends’.“If,” she grumbled.
They would not let this die, so she might as well go along with it.Their disappointment when everything didn’t go the way they expected it to would be on them, not her.For all they knew, Beau was married and left his wife at home because she was sick.
That wasn’t the case, but it could be.This wasn’t how Marissa had anticipated the trip going, but surprises made it all worthwhile. She might as well just roll with the punches at this point. There were only three days left.
What was the worst that could happen?

Marissa
Somehow,Marissahadgonethe entire day without running into Beau. She struggled with her disappointment about it.On one hand, she kept telling herself it was a single occurrence, not repeat performances, and she was happy about that, but on the other, he was funny and adorable—not to mention talented. Why wouldn’t she want to meet up with him again? There was a serious shortage of guys who knew what they were doing in bed.She shouldn’t be so quick to write him off.
Doing her best to maintain interest in the horror stories Joyce and Tina were telling to terrify—no, prepare; they saidprepare—Carolyn for her wedding, Marissa sipped at her dinner wine.Every so often, her mind would wander to the view of Beau’s freckled abs or his bright smile and the feel of his stubble against her thighs while she rode his face.
As the heat crept up from between her legs into her cheeks, she cleared her throat and forced the thoughts from her mind, which drew the attention of her friends.
“You okay?”Carolyn asked.
“It might be the escargot,” Joyce suggested.“It hasn’t been sitting right with me either.”She covered her stomach with her hand.“I’ve never been good with exotic foods.”
“Then why did you eat it?”Tina asked.
“You don’t have to tryeverything,” Carolyn offered.
Joyce lifted a shoulder in a half shrug.“I don’t know.I’m on vacation.Aren’t I supposed to be adventurous?”
Rolling her eyes, Tina turned her attention to Marissa.“So, what’s up with you?”
Again, Marissa’s cheeks flushed.Only this time, it wasn’t because of Beau.It was because she’d been caught sulking about it.Totally not the same thing.“Nothing.A little wine went down the wrong pipe is all.”
Carolyn nodded.“Okay, what are we doing tonight?”
“There’s a comedy show after dinner.”Joyce perked up.
“We did well at the roulette wheel the other day,” Tina reminded them.“We could always visit them again.”
