We parked next to what had to be the Fallen Lords’ bikes.
Lo killed the engine, and the second the bike settled beneath us, I heard it.
“MEG!!”
The scream echoed across the parking lot.
“Dear God,” Hero groaned.“We haven’t even gotten off the bikes yet, and the craziness is already starting.”
Reva smacked him on the shoulder and slid off the back of the bike.“Boy, you know this is gonna be one of the best weeks of your life.Don’t act like you aren’t excited.Anytime with Meg and the ol’ ladies is a good time.”
Hero wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in for a kiss.“I’m only here because you’re here.”
Reva patted his cheek and smirked.“Liar.”
A loud screech followed by a slamming door drew our attention to Bear’s Bronco as it careened into the lot. Before he even came to a full stop, the passenger door flew open and Greta jumped out like her ass was on fire.
“Gotta pee!”she hollered and sprinted toward the lobby.“Bear refused to pull over, and I am not going to make it!”
We all stared, mouths open, as she disappeared inside.
Rigid looked at me and deadpanned, “Are we sure she isn’t yours?”
I laughed.“I mean, I know I didn’t birth her, but damn if she isn’t the spitting image of me thirty years ago.”
“You guys are here!”Alice squealed and jogged across the lot with Wendy, Raven, and Adley close behind.
Lo leaned in and pressed a kiss to my cheek.“I’m going to check us in.”
“Yeah, I’m going with him,” Rigid added and motioned toward the lobby.
Hero and Bear followed with them.
The rest of us converged in the center of the lot, and the hugs came fast and loud.
“You look amazing!”
“Your hair is bomb! That color is everything!”
We were a flurry of compliments, laughter, and squeals.
“Was that Greta?”Alice asked, her eyes still wide from Greta’s dramatic entrance.
We all nodded.
“Yeah,” Reva snorted.“Except she must’ve had a bit too much to drink on the way up here, and Bear wouldn’t stop.”
Alice shook her head and laughed.“Pee before you go.That’s the first rule of road trips.”
“Babe!”Wrecker called from a few doors down.
“Yeah?”Alice replied.
“You’re letting the air out,” he grumbled.
Alice rolled her eyes.“He sounds more and more like an old man every day,” she whispered, then shouted back, “Sorry, babe!Good thing we’re not paying by the air molecule!”
I slung my arm around her shoulder.“It’s crazy how we both ended up with grumpy hotties.”
