Luc’s gaze set a crash of sensation through her body as their eyes locked.
“It’s ready and waiting for further exploration,” he replied, his voice rough.
Her lips curved as she turned her back towards him, a silent request for his expertise in removing her dress.
Luc’s deft fingers made quick work of the ties. She could feel the moment the cool air hit her back, his fingers dancing over her bare skin. She let the dress fall to the floor as she turned to face him.
“Beautiful,” he said. His scorching gaze traced down to the dagger holster on her thigh. “And so well prepared.” Wicked promise in his voice.
Rose took careful steps backward toward the bed. The exhaustion that had plagued her the entire way home was nowhere to be seen as she crooked her finger at him, encouraging his progress to her, watching each flick of her finger pull Luc another step.
He removed his jacket with the first step, untucked his shirt from his pants at the second, and then she pulled him to her.
She wanted him. She knew that the Norden Point and Suden Point being together would cause problems, but they would handle it, just like they’d handled every other obstacle they’d faced thus far.
She was ready to take Arie’s advice and not let the opportunity slip away.
“Let me help you with that,” she said as she pulled his shirt over his head, running her hands over his strong shoulders, down the length of his taut stomach.
“Rose,” he breathed.
“We have unfinished business, you and I.” She stared at him evenly, although the warmth pooling in her stomach at her words told a different story.
“That we do,” he started, but she cut him off as she slid her hands back up his bare chest, wrapping her hands around his neck.
She didn’t know who moved first. Their lips crashed together.
She opened to him as their tongues tangled with all the words Rose never found the right way to say. She wanted to say that she trusted him, was glad he was here with her, and wanted him as her partner, not just as an act.
In response to her unspoken declarations, Luc’s mouth found its way to her neck as he nipped and kissed the point just behind her ear.
“Allow me,” Luc said, and he slid to his knees before her, kissing his way down her body as he went. He sucked at her thigh, teasing around her most sensitive spots, while his fingers moved to unlace her dagger holster.
“This could be dangerous for the next part.” His smile was sinful. His teasing sent chills across her body as she stood bare before him.
Then his tongue started a different kind of teasing. Tentative at first, each lick and suck wholly igniting the flame that he fueled in her.
She couldn’t urge him on fast enough as he built her pleasure. He responded to her body’s unspoken request as he brought her to the edge, driving her mad with need until she unraveled around him.
Before she’d recovered, Luc stood and closed the distance between them again faster than she thought possible. As he picked her up, she wrapped her legs around his torso and he moved them greedily to the bed behind her. She wanted desperately to feel his weight shifting over her as they moved together. As if sensing her desire, he lifted her farther, shifting her to the center of the bed. He wasn’t far behind as he crawled toward her, shedding the rest of his clothes in the process, his mouth moving to her breast as he caged her body. She wrapped her legs around him again, pulling his body down to hers.
“Ah ah, I’m not done yet,” he teased, as he caught her nipple between his teeth.
She couldn’t catch her breath.
She didn’t want to.
She ran her hands down his back, scratching lightly, as their lips came back together, exploring and teasing in kind.
She unwrapped her legs, and as with most of their relationship so far, he seemed to know exactly what she was asking for, moving his knee to part her thighs, his delicious weight settling on top of her. Opening her eyes, she met his.
“This is real,” she whispered. It wasn’t a question. It was finally a statement. She saw lust, yes, but also adoration as he looked reverently at her.
“It’s been real for a while, Rose. I’ve just been waiting for you to catch up.” His lips quirked up in a smile as her eyes widened at his confession.
His lips found hers again, coaxing, demanding. She was only too willing to offer everything he asked and more.
Their eyes locked again as he pulled back from the kiss, a final question in his gaze. She pulled him to her as he pushed inside of her, meeting her demands. She felt like the earth shook beneath her as their bodies connected and began to move together.
