Slow, even thrusts had him mewling in no time. I smiled at the sound, happy I could give him this when he’d worked so hard to grow our babies.

“Does my Omega want his knot?”

At the growl in my words, he shivered. “Yes! Knot, Alpha.”

Reaching around him, I wrapped my hand around his length as I kept pace with my hips. My body curled around him with the move. He sighed, as if he were happy to have me surrounding him.

“Need you to come, mate,” I growled. “Want to knot you so bad.”

The Omega beneath me trembled. His whimpers filled the air as his body pulled mine in deeper.

My knot slid in place, effectively locking us together right as my orgasm crashed forward. I pressed my teeth against his shoulder, careful not to bite his skin.

His body pulsed around mine as he cried out his own release. Before he could slump onto the bed, I rotated us to our sides. As soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out cold.

I held his sleeping form for a long time. Peace enveloped me the longer we laid there. While I’d been nervous about the future and what our life would look like, my mate had reassured me constantly that he believed in me.

“You’re going to be the best dad because you’re already the best mate,” he’d said.

Smiling at the memory, I kissed the back of his head. He hummed in his sleep at the touch.

Rather than letting my mind wander, I took the time we had locked together to relax. It was nice to simply let things be. I hadn’t taken a break like this since the day we found out we were expecting. Even in my sleep I’d been plotting out the future either with dreams about our home or with another to-do list item.

I’d woken up more than once to scribble down notes to myself.

When I felt my knot loosen, I prepared to have to wake my mate to clean him up. He’d also need to eat soon. It was always better to get ahead of his hunger before he got cranky.

Except things changed the minute I pulled out.

“Alpha!” my Omega cried.

I lurched forward, hands extended as if I could immediately fix the problem. My eyes raked over every inch of him to assess where the danger was.

“What’s wrong, mate?”

He panted, hands on his stomach. “Babies... Coming…”

As he said the words, a gush of liquid rushed out of him. We shared a look then, both of us realizing the gravity of our situation.

Apparently, sex had activated his labor.

“I’ll call the doctor. Can you get dressed or do you need my help?”

He shook his head. “No time. Bunny shifters come fast.”

His words didn’t register at first. In the few seconds it took for them to land, I’d thrown on my pants and had my shirt in hand.

“Wait, they do? How fast are we talking? Will we make it to the—” His body curled forward as he cried out in pain.

I dropped to his side, my hand slipping into his. It couldn’t have been more than a few seconds, yet it felt like ten times as long. When he finally took a breath and relaxed, I asked him again.

“How fast are they about to come? I need to call the doctor, don’t I?” I reached for my phone on the dresser.

My Omega laughed. “I should have probably spoken to you about this earlier. Everything I read suggests a very quick delivery. We won’t make it anywhere, but the doctor can definitely come here.”

The phone in my hand suddenly weighed a million pounds. “How are the babies going to come if it’s that fast?”

His eyes met mine. “You’ll have to deliver them, Alpha.”
