She let out a sigh, still smiling. “Well, it’s been an interesting week, but I’ve managed to get a lot accomplished, and the future business plans look promising. So, there’s something to smile about.”
Folding my hands in my lap, I leaned back into the well-crafted but still comfortable cherry wood chair. “Is that all there is to smile about?”
“I’m still unsure of this, Odin.”
I unbuttoned the sleeves of my dress shirt and rolled them up just below my elbows. Her brows furrowed then her eyes went wide as I stood and walked around her desk, pulling a chair with me.
I moved the chair close to hers and turned her sideways. “I think the week has gone well, and I got a glimpse at how little you and Eddie interact regularly. Outside of emails, it’s not very much.” I pushed my palm up her thigh, slowly caressing the soft skin before pressing up under the black fabric of her skirt.
She gasped but didn’t move. “Odin,” she whispered.
Pulling her panties to the side, I ran my finger down her slit. “You’re wet,” I said before running my finger to the top to find her clit engorged. “Are you always this ready?”
She shifted her hips forward slightly, her cheeks beginning to flush. “Only when you’re around.”
I stiffened in my slacks, but I couldn’t do that here, not in the middle of the day. I could relieve her, though. “Same. You drive me wild, Janie.” I pushed two fingers inside and moved my thumb over the swollen nub. Her eyes closed, and she panted, gripping the arms of the chair as I worked her over.
“This–we–oh God,” she whimpered.
“Shhh, if you can be quiet, nobody will know. But I like making you feel good. Your face is so sexy right now.” Her eyes slightly opened, gazing at me as she bit her bottom lip, her knuckles white from the grasp she had on the chair. I pumped faster, rolling my thumb over her the way she liked it. I couldn’t draw it out since we were in her office, so I made quick work.
Even when I didn’t think she could hold the chair any tighter, her fingers bent, trying to dig in as her hips rocked gently against my hand. Her channel tightened around my fingers, and she sucked her bottom lip into her mouth, holding her breath as I worked the last bit of orgasm from her.
When she relaxed, I pulled my hand away, sucking her from my fingers as she stared. She smirked, panting to catch her breath. “I can’t believe I just let you do that.”
Grinning with my chest puffed out, I said, “If you had visited me this week at the hotel, we could have been more discreet.” I pulled the chair back around the desk then rolled my sleeves down, righting my appearance. “I have a few things to take care of this afternoon, but I expect you to be at the hotel by six.” I tossed a key card on her desk. “No need to knock.”
I left her office and headed to the men’s room to wash up. As much as I’d love to have her scent on me all day, working side-by-side with Edward that way could be a bit awkward.
From what I gathered over the week, he was quite fond of her, like a daughter. And while he put up with Donald for his work, he seemed to harbor some ill personal feelings for him as well. That only made me appreciate the man more. Donald had been wrong to not only take Janie for granted but humiliate her at their shared workplace.
My own misjudgment with Janie back in her office sullied my plan to catch Donald with his mistress-turned-lover and make it a business issue. I had issues with him, but I couldn’t be a hypocrite.
I was startled when I entered the men’s room and Donald was right behind me. I stepped to the urinal then he did the same a few places down. I went to wash my hands, and he did so as well.
“So, what are you working on with Janie? Anything I need to be apprised of?”
Still rinsing my hands, I grinned, looking down into the sink. “Nope. We’re all set.”
“I’m sorry if we got off on the wrong foot. To say it was a shock about Eddie is an understatement.”
I pulled some paper towels from the dispenser and dried my hands before turning off the faucet with the moist towels. “Okay. Have a great afternoon, Donald.”
“Donnie.”
I kept walking, working hard not to roll my eyes. Opportunistic asshole. Like cornering me in the restroom is going to make me want to chat him up.
My chest burned as I walked back to the conference room.
“Mr. Gärd, are you alright?” Janie’s assistant asked as I passed her in the hall.
Looking down, I realized my fists were balled, and bile was in my throat. “Actually, a touch of heartburn. Do we have anything handy for such things?” I forced a smile. I had watched her and Janie interact all week, and she was kind but just as smart and hardworking as Janie.
“We sure do. I’ll go grab that and bring it to you in the conference room, sir.”
I waved her off. “Thank you. And you can call me Odin.”
She blushed then went past me down the hall toward the break room. I took a few deep breaths as I walked back to the conference room. Edward didn’t need to see my feathers ruffled; I didn’t want to explain why.
