“Fuck, baby,” Cooper groaned in my ear as he picked up his pace, slamming into me and causing a loud moan to escape, my nails digging into his back as my head fell against the pillow.

“Shit,” I gasped, my back arching as my nails dug in deeper. “Don’t stop.”

Cooper grunted, shifting his upper body. My eyebrows furrowed for a moment before hehooked my left leg around his shoulder, adjusting so he could sink even deeper inside me. A mixture of moans and swear words spilled out into the air around us, both of us reaching our climax simultaneously.

He slowed down as we both breathed heavily, trying our best to come down from our high. Cooper carefully slid out of me before falling onto his back in a huff, one arm on his chest as the other rested over his head.

“I didn’t think it was possible for this to keep getting better,” he told me, and I foundmyself laughing. “But three months later and here we are.”

“Maybe next time we can do that thing I wanted to try,” I said as I flipped onto my side, trailing my finger across his chest.

Cooper gave me a lazy grin and raised a brow at me. “You know, if you actually gave me a chance rather than jumping on me the moment you can, we would’ve done that a while ago.”

“I can’t help it,” I grumbled. “It’s not my fault you’re so irresistible.”

Before he could say anything, the sound of the front door slamming shut pulled us away from our conversation. My eyebrows furrowed as I sat up, listening to the sounds of footsteps running up the stairs before Kara’s bedroom door was closed roughly.

“What the hell,” I mumbled, swinging my legs out of bed. I quickly put my undergarments back on, reaching for a pair of sweatpants I had laying on the floor and a loose fitted black crop and slipped into them.

“You want some backup?” Cooper asked as I turned to face him.

I gave him an appreciative smile as I rested my hands on the bed and leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “That’s sweet of you, but I got this. I’ll be right back, okay?”

I slipped out of my room and closed the door behind me, taking a deep breath beforeapproaching her bedroom door. I reached for the handle to slip inside but I found the doorlocked.

“Kara, what’s going on, baby? Let me in,” I said softly as I knocked. My heart broke as Iheard her crying, and I rested my head against the door. “Please let me help you, honey.”

The door suddenly opened and I wasted no time in wrapping my arms tightly aroundKara, pulling her into my chest. She sobbed into my shoulder as she roughly fisted my shirt between her hands. I pulled her back slightly and walked toward the bed, moving so we wereboth sitting on the plush comforter. I pulled her head down gently into my lap as I ran my fingers through her hair and let her continue to cry.

Once she finally calmed down enough to speak, I asked, “What happened?”

“He doesn’t want to be with me anymore,” she forced out as she sniffled. “He thinks Islept with someone else, El.”

“Why the hell would he think that?” I almost yelled as my hand froze in her silky black hair.

“I don’t know,” she mumbled sadly. “He wouldn’t even let me in so we could talk. Hehad the audacity to break up with me through text.”

We stayed like that for an hour until I heard her heavy breathing and knew she had fallen asleep. I slowly slid out from underneath her and reached for a blanket she had on the chair that sat in the corner of her room, covering her with it.

I tiptoed out of her bedroom, gently closing the door behind me before I stormed across the hall. Cooper sat on the edge of the bed with his jeans and tee on, his eyes snapping up to meas I entered.

He didn’t say a word as I grabbed a pair of sandals and quickly threw my hair up into amessy ponytail. I reached for his hand and yanked him to his feet, pulling him behind me as Iwent down the stairs and straight out the front door.

Stopping at his bike, I turned to him with my hand resting on the handle. He arched his brow and silently climbed on, waiting for me to slide on behind him. Once my arms were aroundhis waist, I demanded he take me to Benjamin’s.

“Open the fucking door, Benjamin,” I yelled as I pounded my fist heavily on the door. Isuddenly heard footsteps and crossed my arms over my chest only to see a woman with a striking resemblance to Benjamin open the door.

“Someone’s a little hostile this morning,” she started to tease but I roughly pushed past her and stormed into the apartment. Boxes littered the place and I had to climb over a few to make it to the hallway.

Pushing open the first door, I saw more boxes inside and knew that it must be this woman’s room. Reaching for the next one, I flew inside and saw Benjamin sitting on his bed with his laptop in his lap and his headphones in.

I walked over and slammed his laptop shut which caused him to finally look up at me and roll his eyes.

“What do you want, El?” Benjamin asked, frustration evident in his voice.

“I want to know why the hell you think Kara cheated on you,” I spat out as I heard someone enter the room. “And why you think it’s alright to break up with her over text.”

I heard a scoff behind me and turned to see Cooper and the girl from before standing in the doorway. “Are you fucking serious, Ben? Over text? I thought I taught you better than that.”
