Their teammates finally broke them up, two of them holding back the guy that Cooper had hit while he smiled and walked back over to Elliott. He reached up and grabbed the back of her neck, pulling her roughly into his body as he leaned down and kissed her passionately.

“As I was saying,” Cooper said loudly once he pulled away, leaving Elliott in a bit of a daze as she brought a hand up and touched her lips. She had her other arm looped around his waist as his arm was firmly around her shoulders. “Don’t wait up.”

The two of them walked out of the baseball house and over to his bike that was sitting by the curb. As usual, Cooper grabbed the helmet off the seat and turned toward Elliott, slipping it onto her head. Once he got the strap secured under her chin, he placed his hand on her shoulder and studied her for a moment.

“Is my dick bigger?”

Elliott laughed loudly, taken aback by his question. It took her a moment to catch her breath before she could ask, “Is that really something you want an answer to?”

“Only if that answer is yes,” he retorted, his hands sliding down her arms and moving to her waist, pulling her body into his once more.

“Well,” she said as she placed her hands on his pecs, “technically, by me not answering that question is an answer within itself.”

Cooper’s eyebrows furrowed for a moment as he thought it over, a soft chuckle slipping past her lips as she took in his confused and distraught features. “Just say yes, and let’s get on with it.”

“Cooper Hearst,” she started, moving her hands up to his shoulders. “Your dick, without a doubt, is bigger than his.”

“You think that’d make me feel better,” he mumbled, the furrow on his forehead deepening.

Elliott laughed loudly as she slipped out of his arms, climbing onto the bike and gesturing for him to get on behind her. “Come on, Benny. Let’s get a move on.”

“No way,” he said with a firm shake of his head. “I am not letting you drive my bike.”

“Why not?” She asked. “I’ll take good care of her.”

Cooper walked up to her and looped his arms under her armpits, lifting her off the bike with ease and setting her back on the grass. “You’re cute, but no. It’s not happening. I’ll teach you another time.”

“Promise?” Elliott pushed, her head tilting slightly.

He held his pinky finger out, which caused a soft laugh to slip past her lips as she intertwined hers with his. “I promise.”

They pulled up to the beach, the parking lot full of vehicles. Cooper found a spot near the sidewalk, squeezing his bike beside a car. He waited till Elliott hopped off the back, watching as she fumbled with the straps of his helmet but refused to allow him to help.

A minute later, she groaned, her shoulders slumping as she took three small steps forward, closing the space between them so he could help her. Once the helmet was off her head, he placed a quick kiss to her lips before hopping off the bike and resting the helmet on the bike handles.

The two of them walked side by side, hand in hand down to the beach where there was an overwhelming number of people and multiple speakers scattered around small boxes resting in the sand. The bonfire where they had gone that first night they met was larger than it had been before.

Cooper led her over to the card tables that were set up, liquor bottles and plastic cups covering the sticky surface. He poured her a rum and coke before opening the cooler that was under the table and grabbing a beer. Linking their free hands back together, he led her through the crowd of dancing students and over to the fire, where they sat side by side on one log.

“It’s weird to think it’s only been a month,” Elliott said after taking a sip of her drink. “Considering we started off with you stalking me, I didn’t expect we’d end up here.”

“For the fifth time, I wasn’t stalking you,” he reiterated with a soft chuckle. “I was up there at the same time as you.”

She turned her head to look at him, her cheek resting in her hand. “Didn’t you say you had seen me up there before?”

“Yes,” he stated confidently, which caused a hint of a smile to pull at her lips. “What’s your point?”

“Nothing,” she immediately replied, bringing her cup to her mouth. She took a sip, eyeing him as he stared at her with narrowed eyes.

Cooper wrapped an arm around her shoulders, jostling her slightly. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were making fun of me, huracà. Haven’t we learned what that gets you?”

“You act as if I don’t like your so-called punishments,” Elliott told him smugly. His face turned a bright red, and a satisfied smile came to her face as she looked away from him.

“Wait,” he suddenly said, taking her attention away from the girl who was stumbling through the sand, chasing after some guy. “What do you mean by ‘so-called punishments’?”

She looked at him with her lips between her teeth, the corners threatening to turn upward. “I just mean you don’t have to worry about being rough with me. I can take it.”
