“No… Well, yeah, but I meant life.” I turned to look into his eyes. “With you. Thank you.”

Aurelius propped himself up on his elbow, frowning. “For what?”

“For loving me,” I whispered. “It’s all I ever wanted, and I can’t imagine anyone better.”

His face softened, and he cupped my cheek with his hand. “I should thank you, not the other way around.”

“Both can be true,” I said, grinning at him. “What do you think it’s going to be like? I’ve never been a wife before.”

He smirked, and cocked an eyebrow. “I’ve never been a husband. We get to go in blind. What I can be sure of,” he said, “is that I’ll love you for the rest of my life.”

My heart ached at his words, and I couldn’t resist yanking him forward and kissing him softly, gently. After a few moments, I pulled away and glanced down.

“Seriously? Again? Already?” I said.

Aurelius shrugged. “What can I say? Itisour honeymoon.” He lowered his voice to that hungry growl I loved. “Come here.”

He flipped me over on my belly so I could stare at the ocean as he nestled himself behind me and pressed into me.

“Oh God.” I sighed. This reallywasparadise.
