“If you think I’m going anywhere with you then you’re more delusional than I thought.” Her voice remains steady, but I can detect the tremors of anxiety lurking just beneath her words.

Gray’s eyes darken, and he grabs her arm, pulling her closer. “Don’t lie, Rowyn. It’s not a good look, sunshine.”

Her eyes flash with anger as she pulls away. “What are you going to do if I don’t talk? Force me to do something?” she taunts us, her bravado teasing a thrill within me.

“Don’t test me, brat,” Gray growls, his demeanor shifting from charming to fierce in an instant.

“Why do you need Rowyn? What did she ever do to you?” Lynds questions, arms crossed tightly over her chest, protective.

“I thought I told you to stay out of my business,” Gray snaps, stepping closer to Lyndsy as the air thickens with tension.

Despite the ferocity of the moment, there’s an undeniable chemistry crackling in the air, a three-way dynamic spiraling out of control. My heart races as I take in Rowyn’s features; the slight quirk of her mouth, the fire in her violet eyes, the strength radiating from her posture. I take her hand and pull her through the throng of people, even as she tries to get away.

“Let’s dance,” I whisper in her ear, guiding her to the crowded living room. Bodies sway to the music, the air heavy with anticipation. As we move through the crowd, the heat of the room intensifies, and I feel the weight of eyes on us. I pull Rowyn close, her hips press against mine, and her breath warm on my chest.

I want to consume every inch of her, to claim her in front of everyone. She’s ours, and everyone here needs to know it. I whisper in her ear, my voice low and husky. “I’ve been waiting for this.”

She looks up at me, her eyes wide with a mixture of surprise and apprehension.

“Phoenix, I—” she begins, but I silence her with a kiss, deep and possessive.

She tastes like cherries, a hint of sweetness lingering on her lips from her drink. The music pulses around us, the rhythm matching the intensity of our kiss. As we break apart, she’s breathless and her face flushed. I can’t help but smirk at the effect I have on her. Rowyn looks up at me and tries to push me away.

“You can’t just—” she begins, but I cut her off.

“I can, and I will,” I growl, pulling her closer. She pushes against my chest again, but I hold herfirm.

“Let me go, Phoenix,” she demands, her voice laced with frustration, but I only tighten my grip as my eyes lock onto hers.

“Never,” I whisper, my voice barely audible above the music.

She looks at me, her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and something else...desire?I can’t help but smile, knowing she’s fighting a losing battle. As we continue to move through the crowd, the tension between us builds, a silent challenge in every glance, every touch. The music shifts to a slower, more sensual beat, and Gray comes up behind her and grinds his hips against hers. She lets out a soft gasp, her eyes closing briefly as she surrenders to the sensation.

“Rowyn,” I murmur, my voice low and husky. “Open your eyes.” She hesitates for a moment before complying.

Gray’s hands slide down her sides, his fingers brushing against her hips, causing her to shiver. I lean in closer, our faces inches apart.

The party pulses with energy, the bass reverberating through the air like a heartbeat. Bodies sway and move in a rhythm that is intoxicating, but none more so than Rowyn, who stands at the center of it all.

“We’re going to make sure you’re bound and chained to us,” he whispers in the shell of her ear then his tongue skates along her neck. Her eyes widen a moment, but she doesn’tpull away. Instead, she leans into him, her body betraying her earlier words.

“I don’t belong to anyone,” she retorts softly, but there’s no conviction in her voice. She wants this, craves it, even if she won’t admit it. Gray chuckles, his breath warm against her skin.

“Keep telling yourself that, sunshine,” he murmurs, his hands slipping under the hem of her dress. Rowyn gasps as his fingers tease her inner thigh.

She looks up at me, her eyes pleading for mercy, but I have none to give. We continue to move through the crowd, our bodies pressed together, our movements synchronized as one. Rowyn’s resistance begins to crumble as her body responds to our every touch. I can’t help but feel a sense of triumph, knowing that we’re breaking down her walls, claiming her as ours. We take Rowyn to Gray’s room upstairs, ready to fulfill our promise and make her ours.

“I don’t know why you brought me up here. I’m not sleeping with you again,” Rowyn protests, pushing a finger in each of our chests. Gray steps closer to her, boxing her in with a predatory gleam in his eyes.

“Do you think we’re blind, sunshine?” he asks, his voice low and dangerous. He takes a step forward, and she takes a step back. He smirks, enjoying the game of cat and mouse.Rowyn’s face flushes as she looks from Gray to me, then lowers her lavender eyes to the floor.

“Let me break it down for you,” I interject, stepping between Gray and Rowyn, putting my hands on her waist. “You’re a mystery we can’t solve. We know you’ve got layers hidden beneath that delicate surface.” My hand slides over her cheek but she flinches away.

“So what? You want me to spill my secrets? You don’t even know me,” Rowyn regards me, undaunted by the heat of my gaze.

“Exactly, and we want to,” Gray says, now calm again, unwavering. “There’s something about you, something that pulls us in.”

Silence stretches, and the music fades into the background as we hold each other’s gazes—three souls caught in a moment teetering between truth and uncertainty.
