I’m here

Feel like throwing up

Phoenix

Come on, you just got that leather jacket! Don’t puke all over it, Gavin Guts

Gavin

As if I want to repeat my Gavin Guts era

I shook my head at the awful nickname people had given me after a video of me puking on stage had gone viral.

Phoenix

Well at least you look hot throwing up. Justin didn’t in that other video.

I rolled my eyes.

Gavin

His fans said otherwise

But seriously, I’m scared I might mess up

Phoenix

You’ll have fun

Once you feel like you can’t handle it anymore, call me

Gavin

I will

I glanced at the house again. The light in the front room was now off. Trying to calm my racing heart, I got out of the car. Why did this feel like a romantic date? Sienna wasn’t a rebound or distraction. She was someone I wanted to spend time with.

My palms filled with sweat as I opened the front gate and approached the door. You’re just hanging out as friends. There’s nothing to worry about.I rang the doorbell, and it only took a few seconds for the most stunning girl I’d seen in my life to come out.

She stood there in a shimmering green top with black leggings and black boots, her cappuccino brown hair touched up with amber highlights. My heart almost lodged itself out of my mouth.

I didn’t remember getting a ticket forher.

CHAPTER 14

Sienna

My heart skipped around in my chest as I approached Gavin with a smile. Even in the porch light, I could see the surprise in his eyes. His mouth hung open as if he was shocked to see me dolled up like this. I’d put in so much effort to look my best.

Oh, but I still kept my red lips. That wouldneverchange.

“Hey,” I told Gavin. “It’s so great to see you tonight. You’re very handsome.” I took in his appearance. His black leather jacket revealed his blue shirt, and he wore black pants and blue sneakers to match. He wasn’t as done-up as me, but he was still nothing short of flawless.

“You’re the one who looks handsome.” Gavin coughed into his sleeve. “I mean beautiful. Though decades ago, women were called handsome, too. So, you’re very handsome tonight. Well, you are every day, so I’m not surprised.” He rubbed his forehead. “Sorry, I’m such a doofus.”

I laughed, covering my mouth with my hand. “A doofus doesn’t compliment a girl like that. I’d say ‘goofus’ fits better.”

“Yes, goofus.” His grin sparkled, even in the dim porch light. “I’m such a goofus.”
