"Yes, I'm fucking jealous," he admitted through gritted teeth. "Lord, what I would give to have even the briefest taste ofher."
"Well," I said, clapping a hand down on his shoulder. "Why not pay miss Deja a littlevisit?"

Several hours later, after her shop had closed, we appeared in Deja's living room to find her sitting cross-legged on her coffee table with her eyes closed. Two lit candles sat at the edges of the table and some kind of incense burned in front ofher.
She had changed out of her work clothes into a pair of black leggings and an oversized black sweatshirt with a pentagram on it. It looked like something she wore to rebel against her religiousparents.
Honestly speaking, she looked incrediblycute.
Sal and I exchanged amused glances as we watched her. Her eyelids fluttered slightly and her brows knitted together inconcentration.
"Whatcha thinking about?" I asked, breaking thesilence.
Her eyes shot open and her mouth formed an O of surprise. Then her legs kicked out, knocking everything off the table as she flailed in her shock at seeing the two of us standing in her livingroom.
I quickly extinguished the candles with a wave of my hand while Sal went to help herup.
"How long were you there? How'd you get in here?" she demanded frantically, then huffed out a tired sigh. "Nevermind, I should have known you'd be able to just appear inhere."
"We weren't watching long, promise," I said, not bothering to hide my grin. "You just looked so deeply focused that we didn't dareinterrupt."
"I'm sure," she said bitingly, though she didn't seem that angry. Her wide-eyed gaze focused on me but she clutched onto Sal's forearms for support, who held her around thewaist.
"Can I ask what you were visualizing?" I said, trying to ignore my rising jealousy of Sal's hold onher.
"Don't you know?" she said in a curious tone. "You can see the past and the future, can'tyou?"
"I can't read minds, I can only see events that happen. That would be too much fun," I told her with awink.
"Well I'm learning new things about you all constantly," she said, spinning in Sal's arms as she turned to face him. They looked like they might kiss and a rare flame of jealousy sparked withinme.
"I was trying to access my shadow side." Her eyes flickered back toward me. "Ash said I should get in touch with the darker areas of mymagic."
"That's good advice," Sal said, inches away from nuzzlingher.
"See anything interesting?" I asked, making my way around the debris on the floor to stand closer toher.
Her cheeks flamed with heat, causing me to bite my lip and stifle a groan. Usually, I could be a patient guy but at that moment, I ached forher.
"Not really," she said, although her eyes darted between Sal and me nervously. "I couldn't really see anything at all. It's like being in a dark room. Although I could feel…sensations."
"Sensations likethese?"
Sal's hands slid up her back, drawing her in closer to his chest. Unable to stop myself, I reached out and brushed hair off the back of her neck, letting my hand linger on her warm, curvingnape.
She drew in a heaving breath, looking over her shoulder at me with her gorgeous lipsparted.
"Something tells me you two know something," she mused, barely above a whisper. "And again, won't tell me straightout."
"It's something you have to learn yourself," Sal murmured, his lips nearly brushing her temple now. "Although we might be able tohelp."
He dropped a slow, sensual kiss just below her jaw, and she let out the softest, barely audible moan. As she arched, her back pressed into my chest. My heart pounded between her shoulder blades. We could have lit a bonfire with how hot and chemically charged we allwere.
"Tell me one thing, Raum," she saidbreathily.
"Anything," I whispered, drunk on her scent and herskin.
