I stifled a giggle as Diana and I got into her Subaru, then pulled my phone out of my pocket. A quick text to Juno confirmed this mysterious coven meeting. She, Erik, and Seth were already there. Not that I truly believed Diana would really make this up to interfere with my relationships. Her thinly-veiled prejudice against my guysdidcome from a place of wanting to protect me.
I glanced over at her wrinkled hands gripping the steering wheel as she drove, and found myself sad that she wouldn't have another lifetime after this one. If she did, I might be able to prove her wrong about them.
