“Was I mad at you before?” I asked in a strained voice, stroking over his neck and face. “I can’t remember now.”
“Hmph.” The small noise he made was cute, eyes rolling up to mine as he released my dick with a pop of his lips. He passed my cock back to Grudge and chose to wrap his mouth around my balls instead of arguing with me.
I let out a soft laugh, tipping my head back and letting my eyes fall shut to their delicious sucks and slurps of me. My hands rested on their heads, fingers curling around Dyno’s tight braid and Grudge’s messy mane. We were so different, the three of us, but our jagged, broken pieces fit each other perfectly. We understood each other in ways few people did.
We’re not right for her,I thought as pleasure coiled in the base of my spine. This is enough. This is right. It always has been. We’d just hurt her.
Someone’s fingers nudged behind my balls and I planted my feet wider to give easier access. The thick digits penetrated me, ramping my pleasure up to where it was almost blinding.
“Fuck…” The curse dragged out of me with a heavy moan. “Gonna come so hard, boys. Be ready.”
They just sucked, stroked, and fingered me harder, to the point of no return. The first convulsion nearly knocked me off my feet. I planted one knee on the couch and gripped the back of the couch as wave after wave of pleasure hit me. My dick lost the hot, wet suction of Grudge’s mouth for a moment, only to be replaced by my other favorite mouth.
Dyno’s tongue lapped and flicked at me, making me shudder between each pulse of my orgasm. He took every last drop, and then my strength really left. I collapsed on the couch, and my loves piled around me.
“Need anything else to make you forget about being upset?” Dyno teased, licking a stripe of sweat that trailed down my stomach.
“A pussy to eat,” I said without thinking.God fucking damn it. Just tell them you were thinking of her the whole time, why don’t you?
I had just been spent and satisfied by the two people I loved most, both of which I was wildly attracted to. Over the years, we had invited dozens of casual partners to our bed, just for fun and variety. None of them had stuck in my mind like this girl we had no chance with.
Dyno and Grudge went quiet for a moment, and I wondered if Kyrie had occupied their thoughts as much as she had mine.
“If you really want to go another round, I’m sure we could sneak a service girl up here,” Dyno mused. “There’s a brothel a couple streets down. I got enough to pay for one.”
For the first time I could ever recall, the notion sounded very unappealing. Not just any woman would do. I only wanted one. I had to get her out of my system somehow. Which I’d figure out after recovering from this orgasm that had left me feeling strangely empty.
“Nah, forget it.” I smacked a kiss on both of them before rolling up from the couch. “Let’s go to bed.”
FIVE
KYRIE
Idreamed of a woman wearing a helmet with wings on the sides. She was tall and muscular, with blonde hair down to her waist, and she was dressed in leather, fur, and metal armor. Her face wasn’t visible, but she had a circular shield strapped to one arm and a massive, two-headed battle axe in the other. She stood alone in a blank, empty landscape like it was covered in a soft fog.
The woman turned to face me, bringing her shield in front of her body. She struck the flat side of her axe against the shield, making a hardthumpof metal on wood. Her face still hidden under her helmet, she thumped the axe against the shield again and again, until it became a steady drumbeat. A rhythm in time with my pulse, which quickened as the armored woman came closer to me.
Her drumming grew faster too, the beat becoming frenzied and vibrating through the air. It always kept time with my heart, now pounding wildly.
Right before I woke up, a raven landed on her shoulder and cawed to the same beat.
Unlike normal dreams, she didn’t fade away immediately after waking. This strange, warrior woman remained imprinted on my mind as I got up and ready for the first day of my ambassadorship. Who was she? Ravens had been appearing in my dreams for years, but this was the first time the bird was a secondary character.
She looked kind of like me,I thought while scrubbing my hair in the shower. I was no warrior though. I’d never held a weapon in my life. General Bray had once offhandedly mentioned teaching me how to shoot a gun. He and my father were colleagues and friends, but after that comment, Dad was so incensed that I thought he might fire Bray and banish him from the territory.
Maybe she’s a messenger.I tried to picture myself in armor and a winged helmet as I dried and brushed my hair, got dressed, and put on a light amount of makeup.Whoever she is, I’ll channel her strength for the day while I sit at this table full of men.
A gentle knock came at my door just as I finished getting ready, the sound too soft to have been any of the Sons. “Come in,” I called, my curiosity piqued.
A young, dark-haired woman in a long, business-casual dress entered my suite, clutching a book of some kind to her chest, her eyes downcast out of either shyness or respect. “Good morning, Miss Vance,” she greeted softly. “I’m Anita, your personal assistant and secretary. I’m here to inform you of your schedule and appointments, plus help you with anything else you may need.”
“Oh, lovely!” I approached her with a smile and extended my hand. “It’s nice to meet you. Please call me Kyrie.”
Anita stared down at my hand for a moment as though it would bite her. Finally, she took it in a soft, hesitant shake. “Lovely to meet you as well. I’d, ah, prefer to call you Miss Vance, if that’s alright.”
“Oh, sure. Whatever you’re most comfortable with.” Everyone back home was fairly casual with titles and formalities. I’d forgotten that some preferred not to blur those lines. “So, what do I have in store for my first day, Anita?”
Looking relieved, she opened the book she was clutching, which I now saw was an agenda. “You have a meeting to be introduced to the rest of Sevier’s officials in half an hour. After that, you’ll be shown to your office and will be taken on a tour through the capitol building. You’ll have a one-hour lunch and then tour the rest of the territory.”
