Reidand I spent the entire night tangled up with each other. I can still feel him between my legs—the rough hair of his beard on my thighs and my neck, the delicious ache from being fucked so deep, his rough hands that never stop roaming my body. He’s obsessed with making me come, and after too many orgasms to count, he showered both of us, carrying my too-relaxed, limp body under the spray and washing me from head to toe with the precision of someone who truly, deeply cares. I never imagined love would feel this way.

The morning light came through the single window in Reid’s room, and I gripped his forearm tightly around my chest, not ready to leave the safety and comfort we’ve found here. So much happened and changed within these four walls, and I can’t imagine saying goodbye to it.

“Here, sweetheart. Wear these,” Reid says as I’m brushing my teeth in the bathroom. He sets a pair of black denim jeans and a navy tank top on the counter, complete with a pair ofpanties and a new bra. “Didn’t want you to return home in a skirt or one of my T-shirts.”

“You think of everything, thank you.”

“Anything for you, my love.”My love.“I’m going to go talk with the men for a few minutes, make sure everything is good for us to head out. Are you alright in here alone?”

“Of course. Do you mind if I use your phone to make a call?”

“You can use anything of mine, take your time. I’ll be back in a bit.”

Reid drops a kiss to my forehead and walks out of the bathroom, his heavy footsteps retreating until I hear the soft click of the bedroom door shutting. I get dressed in the clothes he left for me, pulling them on and not surprised when they fit perfectly again. It’s simple and gets the job done, and I’m actually thankful to show back up in Aspen Ridge in some clean clothes. I know my family will be waiting for me to arrive.

While Reid’s downstairs, I grab his phone from the top of the dresser, knowing I need a few minutes with my best friend before everything gets crazy. I plug in Piper’s number and connect the video call, hoping like hell she’s not in class or at the hospital.

“Jesus fucking Christ, you goddamn fucking bitch,” she snaps as she answers the call.

“That’s a lot of cuss words for a future doctor; do you talk to your patients with that mouth?”

“Kinsey fucking Hayes. I’ve been losing my fucking mind! I had to literally beg your brothers to tell me what the hell was going on!”

“Who finally cracked?”

“Carter, of course.”

“Sounds about right. Liam would have been my second guess.”

“Are you okay? Jesus, it’s so good to see your face.”

“I’m okay. So much has happened, and it feels like that was some sick, twisted dream.”

I spend the next ten minutes filling Piper in on being kidnapped, being locked in that room, and Reid coming for me. Her mouth hangs open the entire time like she’s watching some intense thriller documentary on TV and not her best friend’s real life.

“Holy fuck, dude. I’m so sorry, KiKi. I wish I could hug you right now,” she says as she bats tears off her face.

“Me too. You live stupid far away.”

“I know, it’s truly a hardship. So the sexy giant came to save you like a knight in shining armor?”

“More like a sexy giant biker in a leather vest?”

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

Not wanting to spill Reid’s secrets but not wanting to keep my best friend out of the loop, I tell her that he has friends in certain places that helped him get to me and gave us a safe place to hide out instead of going right back to Aspen Ridge.

“All Carter would tell me was that you were safe and Reid had a place an hour north that you were holed up in until you felt ready to come home. So . . . anything else you want to share?”

“Like?”

“Like how you lost your virginity and look thoroughly fucked.”

“Okay, I’ve heard that saying before and always thought it was bullshit.”

“Definitely real, my girl. You’ve got the glow. Not the pregnancy one, but the freshly fucked by a man who knows his way around the female anatomy glow.”
