“Steal away! So back to this growling business. I’m going to need more information. It’s just growling after all, is it?” Talia added, wagging her eyebrows at me suggestively.
“Definitely not just growling, I can tell,” Ruth teased with a wink.
“How can you tell?” Talia asked.
“Just look at her! She’s as red as a tomato. So come on, Eden. Spill the beans already,” Ruth egged me on.
“I don’t know what to tell you, exactly,” I shrugged off, my hands smacking against my thighs as I struggled to find words to explain just what took place between Malachi and myself.
“Anything and everything, hun,” Talia teased.
“Well, typically we both start to get an urge, I guess,” I began hesitantly.
“Don’t we all, love?” Delilah snickered.
“It’s particularly… intense when there is a storm. We both run, and then it’s begun,” I tried to explain, though I was pretty sure I was doing a terrible job of explaining just went down between the two of us.
“I don’t get it. What do you mean you run?” Delilah questioned, her brows furrowed together in confusion.
“I mean that typically we both feel the connection, the pull to one another. Then he’ll pull me close, nip at my shoulder or my ear and whisperrunin my ear. So, I run.” There was silence for a full two breaths before Talia spoke.
“Run where?” Talia asked.
“Outside,” I shrugged.
“You just run out the door? Just like that? In a freaking storm?” Delilah gasped.
“Yup. I run out into the woods and —”
“In the woods?!” Delilah shrieked.
“Yeah, where else?” I asked, confused.
“I don’t know! I thought you just meant onto the porch, or in the yard maybe,” she exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock.
“What would be the fun of that?” I chuckled, shaking my head.
“I dunno. Get a little muddy and go back inside? No, thank you very much. I’m much more of an inside person.” The utter look of disgust on Delilah’s face was hilarious.
“I don’t know. Outside has proven fun for Gideon and I, as well,” Naomi said with a blush.
“Wait, wait, wait. You get tied up outside?!” Delilah shrieked.
“Sometimes. It’s fun.” Naomi shrugged. “So, Eden, you run out into the woods, and then what? Walk us through a night in the life,” she added, her eyebrows waggling suggestively.
“He chases me. We play the hottest version of hide and seek you can imagine until he finally catches me. It’s a fight. A battle, even,” I said a little breathlessly.
“A battle? That sounds… rough…” Talia stated slowly, her eyes unfocused as she processed my words.
“Yeah, I think battle fits well. Wedoboth end up with scars.” I immediately folded in on myself, burying my face in my hands as I blushed clear to crimson.
“Scars?! What the hell does that even mean!?” Talia shrieked with a shocked little laugh.
“I need proof,” Delilah shrugged nonchalantly, but we all knew just how interested she was. “Come on. Don’t back down on me now,” she teased.
“Well, scars are a bit of an exaggeration maybe, but there are definitely marks,” I admitted quietly, shooting Delilah a saucy wink.
“I do love marks,” Naomi sighed dreamily.
