“Did I stutter?” Her head cocked to one side, her grin matching even my own menacing stare.?
That was all I needed.
“Very well,ma chère. I shall grant your wish. Now, let’s make a plan to right the wrongs those two have committed.”
Over the course of the next hour, we planned.?
That was putting it mildly.?
We schemed and conspired, plotting out the vengeance my little lost soul needed more than she needed her very next breath.?
“Thank you, Bash. Thank you,” she praised me, righting the oversized shirt I had given her to cover her form more fully. Personally, I was a fan of how poorly it covered her thick, luscious thighs, which were now covered in my marks.?
Mine.?
“Think nothing of it,ma chère. Now remember, when this is all over tomorrow, you will come straight back here, and I will help you handle the messy parts.”
“Messy parts?” she asked.?
“Yes, my innocent little moon. There is a good deal of logistics to consider when it comes to murder. Disposing of the bodies, for one.”?
“I hadn’t considered—” she began, but I cut her off, yanking her body to me, my lips finding hers, delving deep with my tongue until I could not tell whose air I was breathing: hers or my own.?
“Let me handle it,chère. Trust me.” She nodded her head once before turning towards the back of the shop, heading for home. I watched her leave, unable to keep a smile off of my face.
“You know this is going to end badly, right?” Toulouse called from between my feet.?
“And why do you say that, Toulouse?”?
“Because it always ends badly, Bash. Every time you’ve tried to claim an innocent, it turns to violence and bloodshed. And look at what’s happening again.”?
“You’re forgetting one key component, my furry friend.”
“And what’s that?”
“The ancestors have already accepted her. And that’s where I went wrong with Carlotta. So my plan has already succeeded. This little twist of brutality is only a plus.”
“You’ve turned her to violence, Bash.”
“Correction: I’ve turned her into my violent little doll. And neither myself, nor the ancestors, could be more pleased.”
Chapter Twelve
Luna
My hands smoothedover the dress, the soft silk covering my skin like a glove. It was my favorite dress. The dress Joshua had urged me to buy nearly two years ago while we were on that vacation in Cabo. I had worn it for nearly every special occasion since then. And tonight was definitely a special occasion. One none of us would soon forget. Well, those of us that would be able to remember.
Tremors of anxiety and nervous anticipation thrummed just below my skin as I checked myself in the mirror one last time before grabbing my things and heading through the suburban streets towards the French Quarter.
Time for my plan to come to fruition.
Time to let go.
Time to let Bash take control.
No, not Bash.
Master.
