“Are. You. Pregnant?” Lauren repeated slowly.

“Why are you in my uterus?”

Lauren shot up out of her seat. She covered her mouth and caught herself before she could scream, but all eyes were still onher. She ran out of the venue, and Trinity’s eyes bulged out of her head. She couldn’t believe Lauren was being so dramatic.

Trinity stood up and walked outside. The moment she stepped outside, Lauren ran over to her and hugged her. “I’m so freakin’ happy for you. Oh my God, you’re going to be the best mommy.”

Hearing those words made tears well in Trinity’s eyes. Before she could wipe her eyes, Winter was walking out of the building with a concerned look on her face.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong. You shouldn’t even be out here. It’s your day. Let’s go back in.”

“No, tell me what’s wrong.” Trinity could see the fear in her niece’s eyes.

“It’s nothing bad.” Winter continued to stare at her, and Trinity groaned. “I’m three months pregnant, okay? That damn plan B didn’t work.”

Winter squealed as she jumped up and down.

“I was going to wait to tell everyone, but the weight police over here figured shit out.”

“Congratulations, auntie, I’m so happy for you.”

“Thank you, baby.”

Trinity could finally admit to herself that she was happy. She still worried a little too much. The fear of miscarriage gripped her every time she had a small ache or pain, but so far everything had been good. Each day, she tried to convince herself not to worry because whatever was meant to be would be.

Planning the bridal shower and being in charge of it was exhausting. It was fun, but Trinity was drained. She had already told Grey that she’d come by his house when she was done. She had a few things at his house, and he had a few things at hers. They alternated spending the night with one another a few days out of the week. Some nights, they stayed apart. Theydidn’t want to rush moving in together simply because she was pregnant.

When she walked into Grey’s house, her jaw dropped. There were vases of roses everywhere along with rose petals on the floor. Lit candles created a romantic ambiance. She was removing her shoes with a smile on her face when Grey entered the room.

“I know you just ate, but give it about an hour, and you’ll be ready for a snack. I ordered your favorites from Cobbler House. Hot honey apple cobbler with extra crust. I’m about to run you a bath. It’s all about you tonight. If you’re too tired to have sex, I’ll eat you to sleep.”

Trinity grinned and wrapped her arms around his neck. “You better be careful how you spoil me. You’re going to mess around and create a monster.”

“I’ll just have a monster on my hands then. I’m not worried about it.”

Trinity placed a juicy kiss on his lips. She was truly happy. Happier than she’d been in a long time. On any given day, she couldn’t tell that her and Grey were in different tax brackets. He did very well for himself, and he was able to take her out on nice dates, and she knew when they got to that point, he could buy her nice gifts. The things that would make her the happiest were the things that he already did. Flowers, her favorite dessert, taking her car to the gas station and filling it up for her without her having to ask. Grey was a manly man. He was respectful, romantic, and the dick was absolutely amazing.

She was so happy that she had admitted to herself and him that she wanted way more than just sex with Grey. Trinity prayed that their relationship would grow stronger and by the time the baby came, they could withstand the stress of caring for a newborn. They didn’t have a lot of time to themselves beforeshe got pregnant. Having time alone with one another was super important.

An hour after Trinity made a post on social media announcing a new class, she sold out of tickets. Space was limited, and she could only accept a certain amount of people. Her mother was doing much better. Even though she was still grieving the loss of her husband, she was having better days. Wisdom had spoken his first word. When Natalie was leaving the house to go to Chicago, he told her bye, and she cried the entire way to the airport. Life wasn’t just good for her. Life was good for her entire family, and Trinity couldn’t have been happier.

She knew happier would come. The day she gave birth to her baby, she knew it would be the best day of her life. She didn’t even want a gender reveal. They were going to find out the sex of the baby at her next appointment in two weeks. Trinity nor Grey really cared what the gender of the baby was as long as she or he was healthy. It also turned out that Grey didn’t have to ask for a paternity test. She knew what he’d been through, and she offered for one to be done before the baby was even born, so he could have peace of mind. It was at that moment, that Grey knew she was the one for him.

Fatima was a little sad walking through the airport. The DR had been amazing even though she was in her feelings. After the day she left Esco’s house, it took him two days to reach out to her, and she didn’t answer. Fatima knew she was acting like a brat, but she felt slighted. When she got to the DR, she decided to just enjoy her vacation and not worry about what was going on with Esco and Sophie. It wasn’t even that she wasafraid that Esco and his baby mama would get back together. She just felt that Sophie might bring complications that she didn’t want to deal with.

Initially, she felt that she wasn’t going to let Sophie run her away, but she wasn’t going to be the only one trying. Esco had no problem letting her mind wander for two days before he attempted to speak to her, and she didn’t like that. It was much easier to ignore him while she was in another country. But now, it was back to Diamond Cove and that meant it was back to reality. Fatima texted Winter as she walked toward baggage claim to tell her that she was about to leave out of the airport, and her ass better be in place.

When Fatima exited the airport, her head was on swivel looking for Winter. The person she saw getting out of his vehicle made her stomach knot up. Esco locked his gaze on her and maintained eye contact as he walked in her direction. Fatima wanted to play it cool, but it looked as if he’d gotten sexier since she saw him last. Fuck. Trinity blew out a shaky breath as he invaded her personal space with a simper.

“Nigga gotta pop up on yo’ ass since you want to be ignoring me and shit. I was starting to think you were in DR boo’ed up with a nigga.”

“And what if I had been?”

“I’d beat your ass and his,” he stated in a low tone that made her smile.

“Picture that shit.”
