“I could use a lil vacay.”
By the time we were stuffed with food and couldn’t eat anymore, it was decided that we would leave late tonight on a red eye. Once we were done, we left, and I walked KK to her car.
“I’ma check out of the hotel then head to your place if that’s cool.”
“Sounds good to me.” KK smiled.
As she stared into my eyes, I licked my lips to prevent myself from kissing hers. I wanted to respect her space so that she would know how serious I was about us taking our time. Just the fact that she was open to seeing where things would go was a win especially since just the other night, she was adamant on not being interested in us moving forward.
“Why you looking at me smiling like that?”
“You just made a nigga’s day.” I grabbed her hand then lined up our, U + Me tattoos up against each other. “Do you remember what I told you when we got these?”
“Do you remember?” She quickly rebutted.
“I think about it every time I look at mine. I need you to understand that I’m no longer a teenager anymore that makes reckless, spontaneous decisions. I’m a grown ass man, I know what I want. I’ve always known what I wanted but some shit was just out my reach. I gotchu KK and you know I ain’t got no issue showing you that there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”
Instead of tonguing her down like I wanted to, I gave her a tight hug as I inhaled the scent of her perfume mixed with her natural scent then we parted ways. As KK headed to her place sothat she could get packed I headed to the hotel I was staying in so that I could check out. On the way, I called Tito, my private pilot, to let him know the move so that he could get the jet ready, then floated to the hotel with KK on my mind.
CLAUDIA
When I stopped by Ermias’s lounge the other day, something about him seemed off. So, I didn’t really stay there long. Ever since we started seeing each other, things had been pretty hot and heavy, so I figured maybe he just needed a lil space. Which I totally understood, and he didn’t have to really say because I was able to read the room. I understood that he was a very busy person, and I get the same way when I am busy as well because I liked to focus on what I need to get done with minimal distractions.
Since I had been spending all of my spare time with Ermias and I hadn’t really talked to my mom, I decided to go ahead and call her so she wouldn’t start to worry about me. Kimmie had already told me that she was asking her about me, and the last thing I needed her to do was worry when nothing was wrong. Especially since Ermias asked me to go to Vegas with him this weekend for a seminar that he had to attend on Saturday.
“Well look who finally decided to call their mom.”
“Hey ma, I been crazy busy. You know how I get.”
“I do.” My mom paused. Something in her voice was off.
“You okay? Why you sound like something is wrong?”
“I’m fine. It’s just a long day. I been shopping all morning and Karl and I just finished eating a big lunch. I’m tired and stuffed, is all.” My mom chuckled.
“Oh okay.”
“What else you been up too?”
“Well…I met someone new. He’s everything and it’s getting kinda serious. He’s taking me to Vegas this weekend.”
“And how long have y’all been seeing each other?”
“A month or so,” I lied.
Had I told my mom only a few weeks, she would have flipped about me going out of town with Ermias.
“Well, you know I let you live your life and try not to be in your business too much but send me a picture, his full name, and make sure you drop your location.”
“And make sure it’s a government name and not one of those street names y’all youngin’ be calling yourselves.” Karl interrupted from the background causing me and my mom to laugh.
“His name is Ermias West, he owns a lounge called The West Park in Hyde Park. He has some kind of business seminar in Vegas this weekend so while he’s working, I’ll be shopping and gambling. When he asked if I wanted to come, it was too good to pass up the offer.”
“Like your mother said, you grown so you do what you want. Just be safe cause we don’t want anything to happen to you or Kimmie.”
“Awww, and I love y’all both too,” I laughed. “No, but seriously, when we get back in town maybe next weekend, we can have a family dinner so y’all can meet him.”
“Oh, you’re very serious about this one,” my mom said. “I can’t remember the last time you ever brought a young man around for us to meet.”
