“You got it.”

“I'll be heading out for a few days. All shifts need to know she is not to be permitted back in here.”

“I got you, boss.”

“I’ll take care of you on my way out. Call for my car in an hour.”

Once I made it back inside my place, I really wanted to take a short nap, but instead, I finished packing the rest of my things for the weekend. I changed into a Nike Tech suit then secured my penthouse before leaving out. By the time I was leaving out, it was a little after three, our flight was leaving out of O’Hare at seven, so I wanted to get there no later than four thirty, five o’ clock. On the way out, I didn’t forget to give Jared a couple of bills for my small request.

The Next Day…

The flight to Vegas was three and a half hours, and I wasn’t surprised that I took a nap on the plane. First class was the only way; my seat reclined back just enough for me to get the perfect nap. Claudia even took one, I could tell by how red her eyes were that she had been sleeping. And I understood why. She waited until the last minute to pack and that was after I dicked her down. I knew she was blasted cause I was drained.

I had planned on getting a little rest before we went out to explore, but since we gained hours on the flight, once I saw the Welcome to Vegas sign, I got a boost of energy. Our room was booked at the Venetian, which was the same hotel that the seminar I was attending would be hosted at. I had the executive suite, and it was damn near the size of a condo. From the Egyptian cotton sheets to the Parisian marble tile, and the view of the strip, this was my type of shit. The weekend wasn’t going to be long enough; I was highly considering extending our stay.

“We need to find food soon. I feel nauseated. I’m so hungry.” Claudia fussed; I understood her pain.

“I’m wit it,” I responded because I didn’t eat on the plane.

We decided on Yardbird, since their chicken and waffles were raved about and supposedly the best on the strip. We had heard a few people talking about it. When I went to the front desk to get the key, I asked what they recommended and Yardbird was the majority answer for all the females at the counter.

“The chicken and waffles back home are decent, but these are by far the best.” Claudia complimented, saying what I was thinking as we left the restaurant and headed toward the lobby. We had to walk past the front desk to get to the casino.

“It was fye.”

“I thought they was trying to be funny. All up in yo face trying to convince you to take them out to eat.” Claudia smirked, giving the front eye the side eye causing me to laugh out loud.

“Wasn’t nobody trying to get me to do shit. They saw who I came in with, just like they see us now. They was just being nice.”

“Nice my ass. I can peep when a female flirting.” Claudia smirked then started laughing. “You know what you got tho.”

“Confidence is a turn on.”

I grabbed her ass then she turned toward me so we could kiss. We had the whole day to chill, but I didn’t want to overdo it because I needed to get some rest before the seminar. The seminar was a networking expo for entrepreneurs that owned bars, lounges, restaurants, anything that would fit in hospitality and Vegas was the best place to host such an event. Ion think there was another city on the map that could compare to Vegas, how impressive it was and what the strip had to offer to draw in tourists.

I gambled while she looked up the information for the wax museum. She played a few slots then decided to head out. Since we weren’t that far, we took the Venetian gondola to the museum.

“Damn! From inside, it didn’t look this bright out. The sun damn near blinded me,” I exclaimed, causing Claudia to laugh.

“It definitely just felt like we stepped into a desert. I can take the heat, but the sun is overly bright.”

The gondola ride was sexy, even though I thought it was going to tip a few times. As we walked through the museum, I was pleasantly impressed. Some of the figures looked lifelike and some of them made the celebrity look busted. We took some pictures and by the time we went through the whole museum I was exhausted. We headed back to our hotel, but once we got there, the casino was hard to resist so Claudia and I headed over to the high roller section and gambled well into the night.

“You know it’s almost eight thirty.” Claudia beamed as she cashed in her winning slip for the jackpot she won.

“Gotdamn, it was just four. I see how easy it is to gamble the day away.”

“I lowkey don’t want to leave yet. I’m feeling lucky.”

“That’s how they get you. Them drinks got us both lit plus you gotta be tired. You not thinking clearly.”

“I’m not even that drunk,” Claudia laughed. “I’m serious, I feel lucky.”

“Yeah, we goin’ our asses back to the room. Soundin’ like an addict.” I laughed.

She won seven thousand, and I was convinced that they put something in the drinks that put you in a trance so you would gamble back your winnings. She didn’t start feeling lucky until she started winning. You had to play big, but when you won, you won big. All the gambling and drinking had us work up an appetite, so we hit up the Edge Steakhouse.

We got an app of the lump crab cakes, Claudia ordered King crab legs, and I got the eighteen-ounce dry-aged ribeye with a side of King crab and a lobster tail. By the time all of the food was placed in front of us, we realized we ordered more than we could handle.
