“That’s funny as hell but spot on. You gotta look at that shit from an entertainment standpoint. There may be tidbits of real life, but mainly that’s not all Atlanta has to offer. People come here all the time and come up. Atlanta has a way of putting us all in a position to be successful. Look how overcrowded it is.”

“I see, I feel like it takes forever to get just anywhere.”

“That’s how it forces you to slow down and enjoy life. You get to not only listen but feel music while you riding.”

“Reminds me of driving down Lake Shore drive back home,” KK compared the two.

“Both sitting at the top side by side. Ain’t shit touching that Lake Michigan view from The Drive and same goes for being down here no matter what part of the state you in.”

“I’m with you when you right,” KK interrupted, causing us both to laugh. “I see why you say it feels like a southern version of Chicago. It feels like more than just a place, but a feeling. The history is soul-shaking, but the view is timeless.”

“Sounds like home.”

KK squeezed my hand as confirmation that I had hit it on the head. There was a lot to Georgia, there was a side that wasn’t so great, just as in any city, there was good and bad. But overall, the good outweighed the bad and now I couldn’t see myself not living there.

After I took KK by my company's homebase in College Park, I showed her my office, and it took everything in me not to take her down on my desk. We had plenty of time for all of that cause I knew this wasn’t going to be her last time down here. I wantedto show her the warehouse so she could check out how it was set up and get an overview of how it was run. Since she was on the logistics side, serving as the liaison between truckers and contracts with lucrative clients, and I was on the truck driving side, I wanted her to be able to visually see what was about to be our business venture firsthand. I wanted her to experience it as a whole now that we were merging.

She didn’t know it yet, but just as she was running the business side of her pops company, I planned to integrate her into mine as well, but that would come much later, more like after we got married.

KIMMIE

Iwas enjoying my time in Atlanta while Darius and I talked about the history and culture differences from back home. The Largestby BigXthaPlug started playing and Darius turned the song up then started rapping and dancing to the beat.

It was funny, but a turn on at the same time. His personality was familiar, I could still see my bestie from back in the day tucked deep inside of him even though he was much more grown, very demure, and it didn’t help that the golden rays from the hot ass Georgia sun had him aging like the finest to ever do it.

We stopped at Publix and grabbed a few groceries and Darius insisted that we get subs. We ended up getting three of his top three to try, some jalapeño kettle chips, and some Stella wine to drink. Once we left Publix it was dark outside and the long roads we were on seemed to make it darker cause there were no streetlights.

Darius drove through Georgia like he had been there all his life. It seemed like he took a different route to his house because the next thing I knew, we had pulled into his driveway much quicker than it seemed it took last time. He parked in the garage then we went inside and while he put the food away, I cut up thethree sandwiches into bite size pieces and placed them on one side of a tray, and on the other, I poured the whole bag of chips. Sandwiches were me and Darius' thing back in the day, and it was a must to have at least two chips with every bite.

“These sandwiches are chef’s kiss!”

“I told you. That line be wrapped outside the door sometimes.”

“They worth it,” I agreed.

Listening to nature and talking about the past while we ate made me sad about having to go back to Chicago on Sunday. Darius didn’t really care for the Stella so after he ate, he poured himself a glass of Courvoisier and I couldn’t do anything but laugh.

“What?” He asked, looking at me like why did I just start laughing out of nowhere.

“My dad loves Courvoisier. You remind me of him.”

“He know what’s up. You want a glass?”

“I’m scared to mix it with this wine.”

“Yeah, maybe you shouldn’t. You drinking blueberries with a splash of alcohol, but this that grown shit.” Darius laughed, holding up the bottle causing me to laugh too.

Once we were done eating, he took the food in the house then I sat on his lap in one of the lounge cars on his deck. My head was on his chest as I looked up into the dark sky. The night was perfect. The longer we sat like that, I could feel him start to get hard. I turned in his lap so that we were looking into each other’s eyes.

“You think this really going to work with us living in two different states?”

“Long as we both want it too.”

“And you think you can stay faithful while we’re apart?” Darius looked at me like I had insulted him. “I had to ask, cause yo sex drive just as high as it was back in the day.”

“My dick stay hard around you cause I want you and only you. This is my natural reaction to yo presence. This not ‘bout no other female. I need you to understand that.”

“I hear you and it’s not that I don’t trust you, but?—”
