"I was led to believe you'd agreed to partner with these minotaurs," the agent said, tone clipped as she turned her narrowed gaze to the men crowding around me.
The room spun around me. I'd heard many offers in the past week.Would you like to suck? Bend over and I'll fuck your pretty ass, Mags. Come for me.
I definitely hadn't heardLet's leave the farm and start our life together, Maggie.
"Maggie?" Beck said, as James set me down on my bare feet—the soggy socks had been burned in the little fireplace the first night here as the minotaurs around me took turns kissing every inch of my skin.
Beck's dark eyes were wide and nervous. When his rut had softened after it's third day, he'd been almost shy around me, and had apologized profusely for our first time until I'd reassured him with my hands, mouth, and tits. He was the sweetest, gentlest man I'd ever met, and he was staring at me like I was holding his extra big heart in my hands and getting ready to squeeze.
Glancing at James and Dallas I realized they looked nervous too. Something floated up from my chest and into my throat.
"Oh, right! Partnering, sorry. I still want to call it uh…marriage. But yeah. Yeah," I said nodding wildly as I stared blindly back at the agent. "Yeah, I agreed."
Dallas's hands wrapped around my hips and he tugged me back into his chest, crossing his arms around me now as if he was afraid I might scramble away and change my mind. Shit, I was getting ready to cry. I wrapped my own hands over his wrists and leaned back heavily into him, stealing some of his absurdly overwhelming strength for myself.
It looked like a tornado had torn through the cottage, but it had been one rut after the other, and while the guys did seem to enjoy taking care of each other, I'd been the focus of their relief. And they'd never said it was anything more than that.
Had they?
Well maybe, in the throes of the wildest sex of my life they might've said something likeGonna fuck this sweet little pussy for the rest of my life. That'd come a few times from Dallas especially. But I'd sort of assumed it was just sex boasting.
Tears were turning into a smile so big my face was starting to hurt and the agent had to think I was insane, possibly as a result of getting plowed by a herd of minotaurs for a week.
"Well, of course nothing is official until you come fill out the paperwork," the agent said slowly.
"Which we will, very soon," I said, nodding. I turned to Dallas whose broad brow was slightly furrowed. "Soon yeah? No reason to wait?"
"No reason," he said, squeezing possessively on my hips.
I nodded again and sighed, falling back into his chest.
The agent huffed, her arms flapping at her side. "Fine. Enjoy your morning. Congratulations."
It was half-heartedly spoken, but a giggling laugh escaped me anyway. "Thank you."
James's hoof clicked against the floor until the door shut behind the agent and then he spun to face me. "You meant that right? You won't change her mind."
Dallas growled at my back. "Don't give her a chance to back out."
"Maggie?" Beck prompted.
"I meant it, but what thefuck? When were you three going to tell me you chose me for a partner?" I asked, spinning out of Dallas's arms to face them.
They all just blinked back.
"I told you in the windmill," Dallas said, head cocking. "Bulls take care of each other until we find our heifer."
I gaped back at him and James's stare flashed between us. "I don't think she likes being called heifer," he whispered.
"She didn'tknow," Beck moaned. "Humans only get coached on etiquette for the monsters theywantto partner with."
This time it was the minotaurs were left gaping. James frowned at last and blinked at me. "Does that mean you…"
"I want you!" I burst out, and then I burst again, this time into the tears that were happy but also born of a sore heart. I threw myself into their huddle and that sore heart mended a bit as their arms circled me. "I really want you. And I thought I was just serving a purpose."
"A purpose?" Dallas grunted.
"A sexy purpose," I choked out between sobs. "No one else wanted me for good."
