Aria cracked open her eyes a sliver. She caught a glimpse of the golden sunshine filtering through the curtains before melting into the man’s warm embrace. “You know I’m not officially Mrs. Elliott until we drop off the license fee.”

“Eight dollars will not keep me from claiming you as my wife,” the man growled, pulling her closer.

Who was she to argue? Okay, she was usually one to argue, but she’d let him have this one.

She hummed her contentment as they spooned, and she relaxed against his hard, muscled frame.

And that wasn’t the only thing hard about him.

A wicked grin bloomed on her lips.

“I’ve got something for you, Mrs. Elliott.”

She rubbed her ass against him. “I can feel it.”

He rested his hand on her hip. “Open your mouth.”

What?

She turned to face him. “I applaud your directness. It’s bold to request a before-breakfast BJ. But give a gal a minute to wake up, Mr. Paige-Grant.”

He trailed his knuckles down her jawline. “You look fully aroused.”

“You’re terrible.”

“You love it.”

Yep, she did. She held his gaze and stared into the stormy blue eyes of the man who’d do anything for her. The man who loved her, who’d always loved her.

“There’s no escape, Aria. I’m not letting you out of my sight. Now be a good girl and open your mouth. Don’t make me ask again.”

Heaven help her. How could she resist a deliciously dirty demand like that? Slowly, she parted her lips.

“Close your eyes, Mrs. Elliott.”

She complied.

He shifted on the bed, rustled with something. Maybe a box? She’d barely taken a breath before he returned. She inhaled and recognized the scent. Her pulse quickened. She wasn’t about to get a mouthful of breakfastD. Instead, her husband had procured a breakfastB. He trailed the delicacy across her bottom lip.

“All for you, birthday girl. Take a bite.”

She wasn’t about to make him ask twice. She ate the delectable delight like she’d been born to do nothing but hoover chocolate. “Birthday breakfast bonbons from Margo’s shop. Nice touch. How did you manage to get your hands on them so early in the morning?”

“Now that Margo’s become an internet darling, there isn’t much she won’t do for me.”

Over the past five days, Oscar filmed many residents and posted their stories on social media. To say that the internet loved the sassy chocolatier was an understatement. And the newfound fame didn’t stop with Margo. The only thing social media seemed to love more than cute cat videos were cute senior citizens rocking thick Maine accents while sharing their talents and trades in smartly edited videos. The lobstermen, aka Del and his buddies, had a lobster talk. All they did was talk about lobsters—and people ate it up. Etta went live a few times while she worked on an intricate ring design, and millions tuned in to observe the master’s hands at work. The same thing happened with the painters and musicians. In a matter of days, they’d charmed the internet.

But that didn’t mean Aria was okay with other women fawning over her husband. Okay, she didn’t mind when the fawners were also some of her favorite people. Still, she was a ballbuster at heart and couldn’t let his comment go completely.

“We’ve been married less than a week, and I already have competition?” she teased.

“Never. It’s always you, Aria. From when I wake up until the moment I drift off to sleep, you’re on my mind.”

“Keep talking like that and feeding me chocolate, and I may never leave this bed.” She relaxed into her pillow. Oscar leaned in and kissed her. She reveled in his warmth, laced with chocolaty bliss. She threaded her hand in his hair. He deepened the kiss. Seconds away from losing herself, a rhythmic thumping snapped her back to reality.

Yes, it was her birthday. And yes, starting the day with Oscar kisses was an undeniably excellent way to roll into the next twenty-four hours. But her birthday had to take a back seat to something far more important. The Love and Lobsters Festival kicked off at noon today, and they had Ivy with them.

“You have to stop kissing me,” she said while continuing to kiss him.
