Riley stopped in her tracks as his eyes locked on hers.

“You little bitch!”he spat, his voice full of venom.“You played me.You set me up!”

She took a step forward. She looked confident. Her back was straight, and her chin held high, even as her heart hammered in her chest.“Yeah, I did.And you made it easy.”

He sneered.“You have no idea who you’re messing with!”he growled, struggling against the restraints.“I’ll be out in no time. You’ll regret this!”

She stepped closer and smiled coldly.“You’re not getting out.Not this time. You trafficked women like property. You hurt them. You destroyed lives. So, I hope you’re comfortable, because prison’s where you’ll rot.”

Adam lunged towards her, but the agents yanked him back and dragged him toward the exit.Spit and rage flew from his mouth, but Riley didn’t even blink.

“Get him out of her,” Russell ordered.

Her heart was racing, but her expression never wavered. She straightened her shoulders and turned back toward her team.

A few minutes later, with the club fully secured and the rest of the agents finishing the sweep and gathering evidence, Riley stepped outside with Russell and Ryan.

The air was a little cooler now, the breeze stirring her hair as sirens wailed down the block.

She sucked in a big breath and then exhaled slowly.A weight that had lived on her chest for the past week finally lifted. The doors of the club, the place that had stolen so much, were finally sealed. The cries, the secrets, the evil that lived inside, would all be exposed to the world.

But deep down, she knew this wasn’t the end. There were still many men with money in their pockets and darkness in their souls.

She turned to Russell and Ryan, who stood silently beside her.

“You did good, Riley,” Ryan said softly.

“Russell nodded.“Damn good.”

They chatted briefly with some of the other agents before assisting with pulling evidence from the club.By the time they were finished, the sun was just starting to rise above the harbor.Riley yawned.

“You are going to sleep for a week,” Russell teased.

Riley smiled.“I probably will.”

“Our flight leaves in a few hours.Do you want to grab something to eat?”

“Food sounds good. But can I meet you guys there?I need to run back to the house and grab my things.”

“We can take you?”

“No, that’s okay.I could use the short walk,” she told them. And she wasn’t lying. She needed a little bit of time to decompress.

“If you’re sure. There’s a market a few blocks from here.Let’s meet there.I’ll text you the address.”

“Sounds good.I guess I’ll see you guys in a little bit.”

Riley tucked her hands into the pockets of her jacket as she made her way down a quiet alley that cut through the city toward the building she had shared with the team. Her boots echoed lightly against the pavement.

This little walk was exactly what she needed. That and maybe a quick shower.

Her thoughts drifted to the raid and how smoothly it went. But most of all, her thoughts were consumed by Nails. She couldn’t wait to see him again.

The thought of seeing him again brought a smile to her lips. Her body ached with exhaustion, but her spirit felt lighter than it had in months.

She was only a block away from the building when someone bumped into her, really hard.

“Oh, sorry,” she mumbled automatically, starting to step to the side. But the person didn’t move.In fact, their large hand clamped down tightly around her arm.
