She was so damn uncomfortable. The tight black leather pants she wore hugged her toned thighs and ass.She left the top two buttons undone on the white long-sleeved button-down rucked fitted top, which made her waist look small, and enhanced the size of her boobs, giving her an hourglass figure. The black heels gave her some additional height.

She left her blonde hair down with the ends curled to perfection, thanks to aYouTubevideo she found. Her makeup was minimal, though she did add some smoky tones around her eyes, which enhanced her blue eyes. She finished the look off with some gloss on her lips.

She looked sexy, sophisticated, and just innocent enough to pull off the sexy good girl act.

“Come on, Riley,” she murmured to herself.“You’ve faced a lot worse than this.Just play the part that you’ve practiced.”

Another minute passed, and the door finally swung open.Riley had to school her expression when she took in the man standing in the doorway.

He was tall, broad-shouldered, with dark hair and eyes that matched. He wore black slacks and a crisp white button-down shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing strong forearms that were littered with tattoos. He leaned casually against the door frame, giving her a slow once-over before a smile appeared on his lips.

“Hello, beautiful. Can I help you?”Oh, damn. His deep, smooth voice was nearly hypnotizing.

She recovered quickly, clearing her throat.“Hi.I’m Riley Taylor.I’m scheduled for an interview with Adam.”

The man’s smile grew, and his tongue flicked out to wet his bottom lip.“Well, love, you’re looking at him,” he said, extending his hand.

Riley resisted the urge to roll her eyes or, better yet, smack him upside the head.Instead, she tilted her chin just slightly and smiled softly.

“It’s nice to meet you.”

She placed her hand in his and gave him a firm handshake. She didn’t want to appear totally dainty like. When she went to pull her hand away, he didn’t let go right away.

“Come on in,” he told her as he gently tugged her inside and shut the door behind them.He let go of her hand to flip the lock on the door.

Hearing the click of the lock slip into place made Riley’s heart rate elevate slightly. She was on her own, behind a locked door, in a place she wasn’t familiar with, and in the presence of a man who reminded her of every monster that ever hid behind a polished smile.

He was magnetic in the worst kind of way.He was danger wrapped in designer clothes and cologne.

Riley shifted slightly, subtly angling herself so she wasn’t fully backed against the wall.Every instinct in her body screamed that this man wasn’t just someone who worked here.He wassomeone.

He smiled at her again and motioned for her to follow him through a dimly lit, narrow hallway, then up a short flight of stairs.

When they came to a set of double doors, she waited, pretending not to look while he punched in a code on the keypad to the left of the door.

She wasn’t even inside, and she already knew that the security in the place was tight.

When the door opened, Adam gestured for her to go in first.Riley stepped through the sleek double doors and took a slow, deliberate look around. For a gentleman’s club, it was shockingly elegant. It was more like a luxury lounge tucked inside a high-end hotel than the seedy place she’d been expecting.

The entire place was decorated in striking black and white, with red accents giving it a clean, modern look. There was glass, chrome, and mirrored surfaces all over that shimmered under the lighting, making the space feel both larger and intimate.

The most fascinating part was the shape of it all. There were no sharp corners or square edges, including the shape of the room itself.Every bar, plush couch, chair, and table curved in a crescent or full circle.Even the center stage, which was elevated slightly above the glossy black floor, was a smooth, round platform surrounded by crescent-shaped seating. The layout felt hypnotic and seductive in an architectural way.Riley had to admit that whoever built this place had style and great imagination.

Adam led her to one of the leather couches and motioned for her to have a seat.

“Would you like anything to drink?”he asked.

“I’ll take a water, if it’s not too much trouble.”

He smiled.“One water coming up.”

As he strolled to one of the bars, Riley took another glance around the place. She wanted to take in every detail she could.

A minute or two later, Adam returned and handed her a bottle of water before sinking into a chair across from her.

“So,” he drawled as she watched her closely.“What do you think of the place?”

She smiled, being sure to keep her expression upbeat.“It’s impressive. The design and décor are both interesting and bewitching.”
