Adam sighed, knowing that Erik wasn’t wrong.Anya thought she was the queen bee around the club.However, her recent negative actions have caused tension in the club, prompting a few of the other girls to question whether keeping her around was worth it, despite her significant contribution to the club's revenue.
“I know.If she didn’t bring in the kind of money she does, I would’ve cut her loose a long time ago.But I’m also curious to see how Riley handles the situation if Anya starts to act up.I mean, if she can survive a night with Anya, she can survive anything in this place.”
Erik chuckled and gave Adam a knowing look.“You like her, don’t you?”
Adam looked at Erik.“Like who?”
“Riley.”
“What do you mean?”Adam asked, trying hard to hide the smile that was fighting to surface.
Erik laughed again.“What I mean is, are you thinking about claiming her yourself?”
Adam rolled his eyes and waved a hand in the air.“Come on.Any guy would react the same way.You saw her.Besides, I’ve got too much going on to mix business with pleasure.The goal is cash, not chaos.”
“All right,” Erik said, appearing to let the subject drop, though Adam could tell that he hadn’t convinced his good friend.
Erik then tilted his head slightly, and his expression turned serious.“Speaking of chaos...”
Adam sighed, already knowing what was coming.“Anna?”
Erik nodded.“Yeah.Ronan called me earlier.”
Adam’s brows lifted.“Ronan?”
“Yeah.Apparently, Rizzio called Chen.”
Fuck!The last person that Adam wanted to find out about the Anna debacle was Chen Pham.
Chen Pham was Adam’s number one buyer.He was a ruthless power broker in the trafficking underworld whose influence stretched across continents, making him one of the most dangerous men in the business.Ronan was Chen’s right-hand man.
“What did Ronan say?”Adam asked, downing the rest of his drink.
“That Chen was concerned.I told him that neither one of us knew about it and that Anna’s background came back clean.”
“That’s what I told Rizzio, too.”
“What is Rizzio going to do with her?”
“He has a guy in Cambodia who is interested in her.As soon as he gets back to town, he’ll probably take her.Right now, Rizzio has her in his dungeon.I’m going to give Turner a call to see if he’s heard anything.I don’t want to be caught blindsided if trouble is headed this way.”
Erik nodded.“Ronan also told me that he’s coming in next week.Chen is requesting some new product.”
Adam quirked an eyebrow.“So soon?He was just here just a month ago.”
“It shocked me, too, considering he buys quarterly.But according to Ronan, Chen’s network has expanded recently, and he’s going to be hosting a big auction in a few weeks.So, he’s looking for a variety of options.”
“I’ll have Elle and Mei assigned to Ronan.I think that Chen would like them.”He looked at Erik.“Also, check in with Zimo and see if he is looking to cut loose of the dancers.I know Chen has buyers always looking for dancers.”
“What about Riley?”Erik asked as he stood up.
“What about her?”
Erik smirked.“What do you plan to do with Riley when Ronan shows up?You know damn well that if she walks through the club when he’s here, that he’s going to take notice.”
Adam sighed.“Oh, I know he will.”
“Well, if you’re planning to keep her around, you'd better start thinking about how to keep her safe.Or at least off certain people’s radar.”
