“What do you think?” he asked as we walked into the foyer. He set down our bags.

“Eh.” I shrugged. “Not as nice at my last boyfriend’s place.”

He smiled. “Is that so?”

I nodded.

“Well I’m not your boyfriend.” He reached out and traced his fingers down my wrist and hand until they landed on the diamond ring. “I’m your fiancé, remember?”

“Right. Sorry, Mr. Frost.”

His fingers wrapped around my hand. “You should probably start calling me Xander.”

I stared up at him. I was very aware of my hand in his. And there was something about the Christmas decorations in the foyer that made all this feel very real for a moment. “I think that’s against the rules.”

“At work.” He smiled. “We’re definitely not at work right now.”

We both just stared at each other for a moment.

I cleared my throat and pulled my hand out of his. “So...where is this family of yours? I’m ready to fiancée it up.”

He laughed. “My parents and grandma aren’t home yet. Apparently they’re out doing some last minute shopping. I’mactually going to hop in the shower real quick. Let me show you to your room so you can unpack.”

I tried to grab my suitcase, but he insisted on carrying it for me. He turned around and started walking up the winding staircase.

“Did you say my room?” I asked. “Are we not sharing one?”

He smiled at me over his shoulder. “Were you hoping that we would?”

“No...I...that’s not...”

“Right.”

“I wasn’t!”

“We have to have separate rooms. So as not to upset Grandma.” He opened up a door for me. But instead of walking down the hall, he followed me inside. He set my suitcase down. “Just let me know if you need anything, alright? I’m right next door.”

“Okay.”

“Don’t be nervous. It’s going to be fine.” He lightly touched my shoulder.

I nodded.

He dropped his hand and walked back out of the room.

I took a deep breath. It was strange being with Mr. Frost outside of work. He seemed so much kinder. Not that I deserved it. Ipictured the hurt look on Tanner’s face. Yeah, I definitely didn’t deserve it. I probably deserved a pimp hand instead.

I sighed and sat down on the bed. I usually loved Christmas. But I hadn’t been looking forward to this one at all. Not because of Mr. Frost. He’d actually been lovely. And this was the most Christmas spirit I’d felt all season. I looked around the room at the holly and lights that decorated the mantel above the fireplace.

I hadn’t been looking forward to Christmas because I’d been dreaming of my first Christmas with Tanner. It was perfect in my head. I closed my eyes, picturing Tanner and I dancing to Christmas music together in his apartment. A smile spread over his perfect face.

I heard the shower start and opened my eyes, the image vanishing from my head. The bathroom door was open a crack. Mr. Frost and I must have been sharing a Jack and Jill bathroom.

I walked over to close the door. But I caught a glimpse of Mr. Frost’s huge cock in the shower. My hand paused on the doorknob.

I pictured Tanner’s smiling face in my head again. I’d do anything to see him one more time.

I knew he wanted nothing to do with me.
