I smiled.
“No, I didn’t realize that,” said Joe.
“Yup. She’s friends with all of the Untouchables.” The way Rob said it sounded like a threat.
Joe cleared his throat. “Great.”
“Let’s get to our seats, baby,” said Tanner. “We don’t want to miss the show.”
“You’ll actually all need to head up to the balcony,” said Joe. “We had to save room downstairs for more important people.”
“Great,” said Rob. “That’ll be a better view.”
Indeed.“Ciao!” I said and let Tanner steer me away. I immediately burst into laughter. “Did you see his face?”
“That was amazing,” said Tanner. “Telling him you hope he got everything he deserved. And the worst day of your life comment? Perfect.”
“I loved that you called him fat!”
Tanner laughed. “Well, that suit wasn’t flattering at all.”
I smiled up at him. Tanner looked amazing in his suit. Even though it was navy, it shimmered a bit in the light. It was almost a blend between his Tanner suits and his Ryder suits.
Rob and Daphne caught up to us. Rob laughed behind us as we made our way up to the balcony seats. “Did you see Cupcake’s face when we walked in? I’m pretty sure he shit himself.”
I hoped he had. We all sat down and stared over the balcony at the filled seats.
Rob smiled. “This is a gorgeous wedding. I can’t wait to ruin it.”
I expected Daphne to correct him, but she didn’t.
“What?” said Daphne, like she could tell I was waiting for it. “If what Brooklyn has told me about what Cupcake did in highschool is true, then he deserves whatever prank you guys have planned.”
I’d forgotten that Joe was apparently a terror in high school too. His tyranny ended today.
The band started playing music as the wedding party walked out.
Rob rubbed his hands together. “Wait for it.”
A little flower girl threw petals.
“Wait for it,” whispered Rob.
Then Sierra came out in a stunning dress. It had a surprisingly conservative neckline. I hadn’t realized it was going to be such a religious wedding…
“Wait for it,” he whispered.
Joe and Sierra started to exchange bullshit vows about how much they loved each other.
Vomit.
“I’m so honored to be marrying the hottest redhead in the city,” said Joe as he held Sierra’s hands.
Bite me.
“He couldn’t be more wrong,” Tanner whispered in my ear.
“This guy is a piece of work,” said Daphne and folded her arms across her chest.
