“And please inform Rosalie and Madison that they’re going to be bridesmaids. As well as all you lovely ladies.” I gestured to my friends.
“This is going to be so much fun,” said Daphne. “I can’t wait!”
Matt rubbed his hands together. “I can’t wait to plan your bachelor party.”
“And why would you do that?” I asked.
“Because I’m your best man.”
I shook my head. “But I wasn’t the best man at your wedding.”
Mason laughed.
Matt just stared at me. “But I’m your best friend. Obviously I’m going to be your best man.”
“I’m also your best friend,” I said. “And yet...just a groomsmen at yours.”
“Tanner.”
“Matthew.” I laughed. “Honestly, I have considered asking you. It was a tossup between you and Robert.”
Robert giggled.
“Excuse me?” said Matt. “You’d seriously ask Rob over me...”
Brooklyn cleared her throat. “Do you need any help with plans, Tanner? Just let us know.”
“I’ve already booked everything. Well, Nigel has really.”
Nigel nodded. “We booked an amazing photographer.”
Brooklyn’s eyebrows pulled together. “A photographer? Why?”
“Why wouldn’t we?” asked Nigel.
She just stared at us. “You were pretty specific about not being photographed at our wedding. The photographer got a few pictures of you guys, but they went mysteriously missing shortly after we got them. And Nigel literally cut you two out of a picture and then hung it on our wall.”
Nigel laughed. “Nonsense. I’m not good with scissors.”
“No, that happened,” said Matt. “And you didn’t use scissors. You used a sword. It was all very dangerous.”
I laughed. Classic Nigel.
“But seriously,” said Matt. “I thought you didn’t like being in pictures?”
“That was the old me,” I said. “It’s fine if someone captures my image now. I’m not going anywhere. And I’m not worried about being tracked, you know?”
“No?”
“Oh right. You wouldn’t know.” I lifted my hand for a high five and Robert high fived me.
“Look,” said Matt. “I don’t know what’s going on but...”
I knelt down in front of Robert. “Robert...”
“No freaking way,” said Matt.
