I ran over to him. “Fancy meeting you here.”

He smiled down at me. “I was surprised to hear from you. When that random asshole snatched the ball from you I thought I’d missed my chance.”

“Your chance at what?”

His eyes scanned my body. “Getting to know you.”

“Mhm. Sure.”

“Hey man,” said Chad. “Thanks for coming.”

Adonis looked deeply confused as Chad pulled him in for a bro hug.

“These chumps didn’t believe we were friends. Can you believe that?”

“Who are you again?” asked Adonis.

“Chad. You know. From the dining hall. We were joking about how chickpeas look like squirrel testicles. Oh, right. Youprobably don’t recognize me in this.” Chad pointed to his thong and laughed. “It’s a final club thing.”

Shakespeare flipped through his book. “Is this a dagger which I see before you, the handle toward your hand?”

“Is that your way of saying that Adonis definitely has no idea who Chad is?” whispered Scooter.

“Of course he knows who I am,” said Chad.

“What do you guys think,” asked Scooter. “Should Chad be addressing Adonis as a person of authority?”

Everyone on our team nodded.

“Alright, Daddy,” said Chad. “How about you give me a piggyback ride over to the John Harvard statue to show everyone how good friends we are.”

Adonis shook his head. “Yeah, I’m definitely not gonna do that. And did you just call me Daddy?”

“I’ll take a piggyback ride,” I said.

“Sure.” He bent down to let me climb on. And I savored every second of it. I let my hands explore his back muscles before hopping up and clasping my arms over his rock hard chest.

He effortlessly stood back up and started running.

“Hey!” yelled Chad. “Come back!” But he couldn’t keep up with Adonis. It only took like one block to lose him.

“Is he gone?” asked Adonis.

“Yup,” I said.

He slowed to a walk. “Oh thank God. Do you have any idea what the hell just happened back there?” he asked.

“We’re doing a scavenger hunt for the Gryphon Club.”

Adonis laughed. “You’re pledging the Gryphon Club? Since when do they accept girls?”

“They don’t accept normal girls. But I’m not normal.”

“I can see that. You know that the task of getting a piggyback ride from the captain of the football team is usually accomplished by climbing the statues by the stadium, right?”

“Yeah, but I’d much rather climb you. And where are you going? The John Harvard statue is that way.” I pulled on his ear to get him to turn left.

“Did you just pull on my ear to try to make me turn?”
