“Definitely not too early,” Luke agreed.

I followed him into our room and shut the door. Luke gave me another of his giant grins and I returned it.

“Fuck, what a night,” he said.

“You’ve still got some streamer stuff in your hair.” I reached out to grab it, although I could have left it. Luke was capable of looking in the mirror and removing it himself. But I wanted to touch him more than I wanted my next breath. I tugged at the crepe paper.

Luke’s breath stalled, his smile fading.

He licked his lips, and the movement drew my eyes, down to those same lips I had kissed.

Oh holy shit.

I staggered back a few steps. “So, I’m pretty sure tonight was proof dreams really do come true,” I said.

“Yeah, I guess,” Luke said.

“That’s got to be the best moment in your life, right? Scoring the winning try in the Supreme Rugby final.”

I was expecting Luke to agree, but he just stared at me for a long moment.

“That wasn’t the best moment in my life,” he said finally. His throat worked.

“Oh yeah? What’s been better?”

He ducked his head. “Uh…Mt. Iron, a few weeks ago.”

My breath left me.

Then he raised his gaze to mine and the same need that thrummed inside me was reflected in his dark eyes.

Oh holy fuck.

My heart thudded.

I don’t know who moved first, but suddenly we were hurtling toward each other. We collided with a force that I was surprised didn’t rip the galaxy open. His mouth found mine in a desperate kiss.

He tasted of champagne and Luke.

Luke.

There was nothing gentle about this kiss.

This was a frenetic, frenzied, I’m-going-to-die-if-I-don’t-get-my-hands-on-you-right-now kiss.

It was a miracle I managed to stay standing. Luke’s tongue invaded my mouth and I matched him stroke for stroke.

He grabbed the back of my head as if to hold me in place, but no way was I going anywhere. I reached for his hip, pulling him closer, and when I felt his hard cock against me I gave a low moan.

A shiver pulsed up my spine and I pressed against him.

Closer. Closer.

Closer to him, our bodies tightly wound together.

Luke was everywhere, his tongue in my mouth, his hands gripping my hair, his body pressed up against mine, but still I tried to pull him even tighter to me.

Because it would never be enough.
