Magnus:

Fenrir found something. Not good. Kirkja tomorrow morning.

Me:

The leak?

Magnus:

Yeah. You're not going to like it.

I set the phone aside, not wanting to speculate.

Tomorrow will bring what it brings.

Tonight, I've got my family safe in our fortress, guarded by three beasts who'd die to protect them.

The threat's real, getting realer.

But looking at Saga sleeping peacefully, feeling the weight of dogs across our feet, I know we'll face whatever comes.

We're building something here. Something worth protecting.

Something worth fighting for.

Let El Martillo come.

Let him bring his ten professionals.

He'll find out what happens when you threaten what's mine.

But that's tomorrow's problem.

Tonight, we're home.

"Couldn't sleep." He pulls me between his knees, and I see the tension in his shoulders. "Runes wants to increase patrols again."
