Let her…?

I’m focused on his words, how he seems to find himselfresponsiblefor his sister leaving… Maybe his parents too.

The kid is damaged, alright. And I don’t know where this messiah complex in me came from, but I really just want tosavehim.

“Have you tried contacting the police?” I ask.

He gives me a look. “The sheriff in this town is like the cartoon sheriff in the Looney Tunes, who falls asleep with his hat covering his face and the keys to the jail cell dangling within reach of the prisoners.” I can’t help but chuckle. “He doesn’t do shit.”

“So then… what’s the plan?” I lift my brow. “You just gonna wait for her to come home?” He squints at me. “Just asking. I mean, you know her better than anyone.”

“Hm… yea.” He runs his fingers through his hair. “But there’s someone else who knows her pretty well…”

I blink, intrigued. “Who?”

Asa shifts, tugging our joined hands onto his lap. “Will you come for a walk with me tomorrow?”

I’m thrown off by his subject change. But I’m still nodding, without a second thought. “Of course.”

“Cool,” he exhales. “There’s somewhere we can go…. To hopefully get some answers.”

I want to ask a bunch of questions, like where we’re going, who we’re going to see, andwhyhe would ever think his sister taking off is his fault.

But I acquiesce, instead asking, “You wanna come inside?”

He blinks his gray eyes at me. “You mean… you actually still want to…”

I swear, he’s killing me with that shyness.

“Yes, Asa, I still want to hang out with you,” I sigh through a smirk.

His face lights up. “Yea? I didn’t like… ruin it last night by being a whacko?”

“You definitely did,” I tease. “But I’m willing to give you another chance.” He grins, playing with my fingers. “Only if you think it’s okay, though. I mean… what happens if you fall asleep again?”

“I won’t fall asleep,” he sighs, staring at our entwined fingers. “I’ll make sure of it.”

My forehead lines. That doesn’t sound good, or healthy at all.

Human beings need to sleep, man. It’s important.

But I can’t see past wanting to spend time with him. I just want to be around him, kiss him and touch him, and hopefully make him come in a lot of ways we haven’t tried yet. It’s more important than knowing he’s struggling with something I don’t understand.

“Alright,” I mumble. “But this time, we should hang out in my bedroom. That way we can get totally naked.”

He bites his lip, humming out a sexy sound that has me burning with need.

I have no clue what I’m doing with this damaged boy.

But whatI’mafraid of… is that it’ll stop.

Chapter 6

For someone who hasn’t slept in almost a week, I’m surprisingly refreshed.

It’s obviously thanks to Jules, and his magical lips.

Last night, we hung out in his bedroom talking for a while. Which quickly turned to kissing, which led to touching and panting and more hard dicks grinding together in agonizing friction that turns me purely feral.
