“I know why you came, and I appreciate it.But this is more fun.”She lifted one hand and crooked her finger at him.“Now come up here and show me if you’re as good with your dick as you are with your mouth.”

Madisonlaybackonher bed, staring at the ceiling as she tried to remember how to breathe normally. She turned her head to look at Talon, where he lay beside her, breathing even harder than she was.

“What are you thinking?”she asked, watching the way his chest rose and fell with every breath.

“That I need to get up and clean us both up.But I don’t want to.I want to pull you into my arms and hold you tight while we both drift off to sleep.”

“That sounds amazing.”Madison didn’t even try to keep the wistful tone out of her voice. She couldn’t blame him for not wanting to get up.She didn’t want to move either. But she knew they needed to, if only to get beneath the covers. They would get cold if they stayed where they were.

A couple of minutes later, Talon rolled off the edge of the bed.She watched as he landed on his feet then headed out the bedroom door to the hall and she assumed the small bathroom she’d shown him earlier.

She listened but it was silent.Unsure what was going on, she frowned and wondered if she should go check on him, then the water in the bathroom turned on.Reassured, she relaxed and waited for him to come back to her.She didn’t have long to wait as he returned with a washcloth, cleaned her up then tossed it aside and pulled back one corner of the bedding. He shifted her to be inside the bed, then pulled the blankets over her before going around to the side he’d been on before and slid beneath the covers.

“I made sure the door was locked. We’re good for the night unless you need something else?”he asked before he tugged her into his arms and snug against his chest.

“I’m good,” she murmured, snuggling in and letting his warmth seep into her bones. As she drifted off to sleep, she wondered why she felt so drawn to Talon and why she’d trusted him so easily. Not that it would make things change but why?

Theincessantbleatingofher alarm woke Madison the next morning. She slapped at the alarm to shut it off and rolled over to find the other half of the bed empty. She wondered if he’d left, but since he’d said he would take her to work today, she couldn’t imagine that, not without at least letting her know if the plan had changed.

She stretched, then lay there a moment, trying to decide what to do.She needed to get up, that was a given and she had to go to work.If Talon had left, whether or not he’d left a note or sent a message why, she would have to take her truck to work. But remembering what they’d discussed the night before, she would be careful what she did in the truck and what she said.

With a sigh, she forced herself to get up and get moving. She pulled clean clothes from the dresser and closet and headed for the bathroom. She’d shower and then look to see if Talon had left her a note or anything.

In the bathroom, she didn’t bother to close or lock the door. She never did when it was just her in the apartment and since Talon wasn’t here, why bother? She turned on the shower, waited for the water to turn warm then stepped inside. She was halfway through rinsing her hair, her head fully under the spray, enjoying the warmth as the soap suds flowed down her face, when she heard something.

What was that sound? Was it someone talking?Had Billy found out about Talon and found a way in?Had Talon not locked the door when he left? She leaned forward, pulling her head from the spray and listened.

“Madison, can you hear me?”Talon’s voice said.

She pulled back the curtain and looked around it to where he stood in the open bathroom door.

“You scared me.I thought you’d left.”

“I’m sorry.I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“What did you say before?I heard your voice but not what you said.”

“I asked how you want your coffee.I assumed since you have it around, you drink it and I made some, but I don’t know what you want in it.”

“Oh, about a tablespoon of sugar. And thank you.”She waited until he turned around and walked away then closed the curtain and finished her shower. How long had he been up before her alarm went off and what had he been doing?Madison couldn’t help the different routes her thoughts took as she conditioned her hair then rinsed it out, and she didn’t bother to try.

When she’d shut off the water, she pushed the curtain back and reached for her towel, noticing that there was now a cup of coffee on the counter beside the sink. She smiled to herself as she dried her arms then wrapped her hair in the towel. She reached for her second towel as she stepped out of the tub, then wrapped it around herself and picked up the mug and took a sip.

Perfect.

Talon had already seen, and touched, everything she had so she didn’t bother to close the door. She took another sip, and she set the mug down before pulling on her clothes.

By the time she was through in the bathroom, her coffee cup was empty and she was ready for more.

“How was it?”Talon asked from where he sat on her sofa as she stepped into the living room.

“Perfect, thank you.”She carried the cup into the kitchen, put another pod in the coffee pot and hit the button to make herself another cup.Turning, she found Talon had followed her.

“I didn’t know what you wanted, or I would have fixed you something to eat.”He stepped up to her, wrapping an arm around her waist and dipping his head to give her a soft kiss on the lips.“If we’ve got time, and you’ll tell me what you want, I’ll cook for you.”

She checked the clock and found that she still had plenty of time.
